El Maizito — Restaurant in Houston

I cannot do this place justice with a review. I considered gatekeeping it but honestly they deserve to be shared. It is in a shaken little area of town and the parking lot is questionable at best but the Chicharrones are SO WORTH IT!!!

The first time we stopped by after working in the downtown area and only bought 1lb of chicharrones “to test” between me and my husband. We didn’t make it home without eating half a pound just from the bag.

When I bought some for my family who was visiting, they ended up taking home half of what was left because they were that good!

Last time I went like 2 weeks ago they gave me nothing but greasy barbacoa I ordered de cabeza barbacoa but nothing but leftover fat chopped up today I went and they put a big piece of the top part of the cows mouth that is not something anyone eats but it weighs alot that really pisses me cus I didn't see it til I got home and that cabeza barbacoa is not cheap I have been going here for years but lately...

I’m not doing it justice because I took a photo after eating, but wow! Finally found a place that makes tacos with actual fajita marinada and not just bistec (that’s good also but this is what I’ve been looking for) The portions are great, more than reasonable.
