Gong Cha — Restaurant in Houston

Ive been to other Gong Cha locations before and have had a great experience every time so I was excited to see there was one closer to home. I ordered two creme brulee brown sugar milk teas with tapioca, the drink that was supposed to have the tapioca didn't have any even though I had already paid for it. I mentioned it to the employee and she asked if she could just put it on top of the drink, I said yes expecting the drink to still come out as I've received it before at other locations. There was then no creme brulee on top whatsoever. A small layer of foam that melted does within two minutes. Every time I've ordered this at other locations it comes with a thick layer of foam that is crisped and doesn't melt down at all. The drink tasted nothing like I've had before, nothing more than a plain brown sugar milk tea for the extra the price. I will not be returning to this location at all. Always a good place to stop by. Was surprised there were seats when we stopped by over the weekend. It’s non stop customers ordering drinks and waffles to go, but still quiet enough to converse, study, and hang out at. We had the staple original bubble waffles with just enough filling, match green tea waffles, and an assortment of drinks with boba and a slushie for our non boba-loving child.

If you’ve never been, prepare for prices that are comparable to a Starbucks visit. Best tea store I’ve had the pleasure of visiting in my whole life. I’ve tried the Earl Grey, Chai, Oolong, and Taro lattes with boba and they’re ALL good. I don’t know what kind of boba pearls they’re using, but they taste better than any I’ve had before. They have a great flavor and I’ve never thought that about a boba tea before.
