Mille Cafe — Restaurant in Houston

In need of late- night coffee in the Friendswood area? I found myself in exactly this predicament at 9pm one Saturday night and to my dismay, many coffee shops were already closed. A pulled out my phone, went to Google Maps, and looked for a place that was open. To my satisfaction, there was one open coffee shop nearby: Mille Café Coffee and Bites.

This coffee shop is located near Baybrook Mall, and it features a large interior with plenty of elbow room. Besides the usual coffee drinks, they serve tea, sodas, and caffeine- free drinks. And if you get hungry, they serve sandwiches, desserts, muffins, etc. There is a Vietnamese theme, which is great for those who seek something different in terms of food and beverage when they visit a coffee shop. When was the last time you tried a Bahn Mi Thap Cam Sandwich? I’m guessing it’s been a long time. You can find food like that, and other interesting options, at Mille Café Coffee and Bites.

Seating at Mille Cafe includes round tables with chairs, which is good for small groups of friends who want to converse, and comfy chairs separate from tables, perfect for those times when you want your own space and want to relax while you sip. Some of the individual chairs have a back that is angled, so you can really get comfortable, almost to the point of falling asleep. The variety of seating options is a definite plus. The interior has plants, too, which give it a feeling of home, and comfort.

I liked my coffee beverage served at Mille Café and the small serving of tiramisu that I ordered with my drink was just right for a satisfying conclusion to my day. It’s reasonably quiet here, too, which makes it a good choice when you want to get away from it all, read, study, work on your laptop, and more. I’m glad I made this late night discovery, and I appreciate that this establishment is open later than other coffee shops in the area.

Way too much ice in their over priced iced coffee and they refuse to fill your drink to the top of the cup even though they hardly give you any in the first place because their coffee is "pre measured". I was done in 2 drinks. No customer service and they clearly don't care if you come back. Luckily, good coffee shops are plentiful because this certainly isn't one of them. It looks like Thuy (The owner I believe) responded, then deleted his response because he knew it was bs.

Thuy, I appreciate your response, but if they told you they offered me more coffee, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you were lied to. That was my original request, so it wouldn't have made sense for me to decline what I originally requested.

My first I request was easy ice after the drink was made. I thought there was way too much ice and very little coffee, and being a prior barista, I know coffee shops try to save money by over icing drinks, and I forgot to request it prior, this is a request many coffee shops have had no problem obliging. Her response was, it would look like there was too little coffee, which makes no sense. Then I asked if she could put more coffee, and her response was "It was pre measured". She never offered any additional coffee, if she had, I would have said yes because, again, that was my original request. Me allegedly declining the coffee because it is late is also comical, it wasn't even 9, I normally stop drinking coffee...

I really enjoyed this cafe. The atmosphere was chill and calm. They have calm music playing that gives a warming and welcoming atmosphere. It is also decorated very nicely and modern, which allows you to take nice aesthetic pictures if you would like. You could easily do work or just chill with your friends. They have free wifi and many different spots for you to sit. They have a variety of chairs, tables, and sofas for your preference. The services were awesome, the drinks came out quickly, and the cashier was super friendly and helpful. You can ask them for recommendations if needed. All the drinks are fully handmade with unique recipes. They have many drinks to choose from teas to coffees to refreshers, etc. They also have many snacks and treats for you to try as well. There are a variety of different foods and snacks if you get hungry. Personally, this is one of the coffee shops that makes good, authentic Vietnamese coffee. I highly recommend it if you want to know what authentic Vietnamese coffee tastes like. The coffee is both sweet but also has a hint of bitterness.
