UPDATE: I reached out to the owner via email like she asked in her response to my original review and also provided feedback on my experience I had when I went the next day to get my order remade from the previous day⌠and guess what? NO RESPONSE. I shouldâve known it was just to save face and make it seem like they care, but they donât. Here is my exact email to her about my visit with them the next day, to which I still havenât received an acknowledgment. Because of this, Iâve changed my rating to one star, although even that is too generous.
Also, I attached a photo of how I received my âreplacementâ order. So much for making it right. Barely any ice or syrup. What a joke.
âHi Juliana,
I just want to express how disappointed I am with my visit TODAY.
I stopped by like T told me to yesterday. When I spoke to Debbie, who Iâm assuming is the manager and explained what happened yesterday, she said âoh youâre the one who did the review.â When I said yes, she said âso if I do this for you (replace my order) can you remove the review?â
What the hell. It shouldnât be, âif you do this, Iâll do that.â It should be done regardless because that was what was said to me yesterday.
On top of that, she said âbecause thatâs not what T told me what happened. She said you specifically asked for the coconut yesterday.â
Why would I order something that I donât like AND slightly allergic to (I didnât disclose that in my review, but this explains why Iâm so upset at the lack of communication from the beginning).
She then proceeded to tell me how I was wrong because the ones I ordered come with vanilla, so I mustâve asked for coconut. So sheâs trying to gaslight me too.
This is not how you treat customers, and you seriously need to reconsider your management team.â
âââ ORIGINAL REVIEW
I visited today and ordered the Strawberry Delight and Dreamy Dreamsicle to go. This was my 3rd visit, and I had already tried these flavors, so I was expecting them to taste the same as when I ordered before.
Imagine my surprise when I got home and got to the ice cream part and it was the coconut base and not the vanilla. One, I do not like coconut. I didnât say anything to my daughter in hopes she would eat it, but when she got to it she said âyuck! This tastes like coconut!â We both threw ours away. So wasted money.
And two, coconut allergies are a real thing! The fact that they did not disclose this when ordering is a huge red flag.
When I called the shop to ask to speak to a manager, the person who answered said, âa manager?â With an attitude. Then when I said yes, she said âsomeoneâs on the phone talking âbout âcan I speak to a manager!ââ Also with an attitude.
When I spoke with T, she offered me a replacement but said they didnât have the vanilla ice cream so I would just get the ice. Why would I want an incomplete replacement? I want what I paid for.
Also, the fact that this wasnât a careless mistake and they knew they were serving coconut ice cream WITHOUT letting people know baffles me. Youâre serving an allergen and not informing people because you care more about making a sale than possibly people deciding not to buy that day.
The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the manager was apologetic and offered me to go on another day (she said it would have to be by the next day) for my replacement. Hopefully theyâll have the regular ice cream.
Just a warning in case you have allergies to ask before you order, because they sure...
Read moreI typically drive about 20 minutes away to go to my usual spot on Veterans, so, I wanted to give them a try since it was an easier & closer drive for me. But a 45 minute wait, seriously? Yes, a 45 minute wait for a snowball was too much for me after already standing in line waiting to order. I left because the drive thru line was out the parking lot & down the street. I gave them 2 starts because I like the concept & area. The option for adult drinks is cool but I really just wanted a snowball! As someone who grew up on Louisiana snowballs the individual flavor menu is very small in comparison to a traditional snowball stand. It seems there's more focus on the adult menu than the actual snowballs themselves. **Wait.... you'll still charge you an extra 99¢ even if you don't add base?đ¤¨
Update So, I gave it another shot. Wait was way more reasonable however, it's a hard no for me now! Almost $7 for, basically, a kid sized snowcone served in a condiment to-go cup & dry from the jump. Ambiance and vibe is not a trade-off for quantity or quality. I'd rather drive the 20 minutes (one-way) to Oasis for a...
Read moreThis place can get busy. The shaved ice is standard, nothing fancy, but it's nothing like the Hawaiian shaved ice I had in Los Angeles a while back visiting friends. The one in LA I went to had "real" Hawaiians working and the texture of the ice and taste of the sweet syrups was unrivaled. This place tastes like thick coarse hard crushed ice stuck together and the flavors that have passonfruit have no taste. Odd huh? Because Passionfruit is very very very overpowering in general. I was so excited when they opened and waiting patiently for about 2-3 weeks to finally go and when I came I was disappointed. I even tipped the cute ladies a decent amount. Almost $17 for a skimpy shaved ice in a microscopic to-go cup that tastes worthless hurt me very hard. Talk about expectations now. Only reason I am giving 3 stars aside from the trash ice is because the girls who served me were very cute and also very nice, patient, and reassuring. Ladies, go find a better job with that awesome attitude because I know you can get paid way more and it won't ruin your...
