Worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time! I used to love this place .. I don't know what changed.
From the beginning things were not great. My grandma literally stood up trying to get a waiter's attention so we could move to a warmer, quieter table for over 3 minutes - to no avail! We finally found someone and told them we were moving but then didn't see anyone for at least 10 plus minutes.
We asked for tortillas twice and then only got 2 single tortillas even though we specifically asked for 4 or more (he actually asked how many we wanted).
Not once did we get a refill and several waiters and the MANAGER walked by, looked at our drinks and kept walking. We tried stopping waiters, nothing.
My grandpa finally goes to the bar to get refills (one water and one tea) and is ignored by 4 waiters before finally getting someone's attention. They bring back both cups (the same cups, same mostly melted ice) now filled with water even though one of them was a tea. We asked the waitress for new cups and she just stared at us and continued to put the drinks on the table as she backed away slowly.
When our waiter finally reappeared he asked if everything was okay and we said NO, he just nodded and WALKED OFF.
The food was burnt, we didn't even all get plates, no refills and were ignored by every waiter in the building at least once.
Absolutely terrible experience. Won't be back for...
Read moreThis has got to be one of the best Tex-Mex out there! Definitely better than Gringos. Went in for lunch. I was a bit sketchy when we pulled up to their "private parking" towards the back. The patio looks like a nice place to hang out when the weather is right. Was greeted when we walked in. Not a bad start.
First off, we were served with hot chips and salsa. Now, I have been reading a lot of reviews about how "inconsistent" and "watery" the salsa is but the taste and temperature is amazing. Despite the hot and spiciness, it is very addicting. Chips were not too thin where it would crack and break on contact but thick enough to hold the salsa and have a nice crunch to it. They also serve you a small cup of noodle soup, which was decent to start with.
Next, we have the Tortuga Rita. This lip-sucker is Death in one cup. Refreshing, yet you know damn well someone was a heavy pour after a sip (no complaints, of course). I had the Entomatada, packed in with chicken and sides are great compliments. Great portion for what it's worth (7.50 during lunch). Cannot beat that any where else unless you're at Juan in a Million.
Overall, I had a great experience here. I will be back for the Margaritas, especially during happy hour.
Pros: Great food for Great Price (Go during Lunch) Service Margaritas Size of Margaritas (Large all the way) Chips and...
Read moreI went here based on the hype. The fact that this place is still open shocks me on how the food culture is now driven by social media influencers desire to get perks or money.
We started with Chile con queso and that was a watered down flavorless cheese sauce. For our mains we ordered the enchiladas suizas with chicken and mole enchiladas with chicken. The suizas were hands down the worst suizas I've ever had. The chicken had grill marks but had zero flavor. Almost as if it was boiled. The chicken in the mole enchiladas was at least palatable although I wouldn't recommend the mole enchiladas for someone with high blood pressure. The biggest issue with the mole enchiladas was the lack of mole sauce. I want my mole enchiladas lathered in a delicious mole sauce. This was neither delicious nor lathered with sauce.
There are plenty of other good spots for latin cuisine. This would be a hard pass for me. I unfortunately fell for the...
