Going to Honeychilds Sweet Creams was the perfect stop to beat the heat of scorching Houston weather. Who would expect that in a little tiny ice cream shop would make there own ice cream, have a lending library and have uncommon flavors? On top of that, there were only two well mannered employees and they scooped the ice cream timely right before closing time so it didn’t feel understaffed. The lending library was an unexpectedly pleasant surprise, and it was themed after progressive social topics that I agree with. There was a bar where you could eat your ice cream, and it had view of ice cream making room. The ice cream was tasty and fresh including apple butter sage and black berry basil and so was the waffle cone.
The only problem was that it was in a new looking strip mall, under a highway. You had to drive into a literal ditch by driving across the highway. It’s possible there was an easier way I was not going, just the location was extremely inconvenient.
To conclude, I’d say this ice cream shop is a fine ice cream shop and I’d recommend if you like fancy ice cream and are...
Read moreI seriously am in love with this ice cream shop. They have some of the most unique flavors around and there's something here for everyone. Do not be shy to ask for samples before you make your pick. The guys that work here are so friendly and good conversationalists if it's not busy and you wanna chat em up.
It was my first time visiting one night with some friends and needed some suggestions and the staff was delighted to assist me. I decided on their house baked cookies with my choice of ice cream and it hit the spot for my sweet tooth. Their place is also so aesthetic. Plenty of chances for pictures and social media posts!
Plenty of parking in the plaza and they also have seating outside.
The bathroom is immaculate! You know the place is good when they have a comfortable, clean restroom.
I'd highly recommend this ice cream shop for anyone craving cookies...
Read moreHoneychild’s sells homemade ice creams which are super delicious. They have several classic flavors and seasonal flavors.
I had the Meyer lemon, and apple pie flavors (both seasonal flavors) in a cup. The Meyer lemon flavor was a little tart but had a hint of sweetness. The apple pie flavor tasted so apple pie-ish. It was good. I also got a cone of black chocolate, and vanilla flavors (both classic flavors). The black chocolate was not bad. It wasn’t dark chocolate with bitter taste. It was sweet but didn’t have a strong chocolate taste. The vanilla flavor was ok, not overly sweet.
There are plenty of seats available to enjoy the ice cream. The interior is simple, neat, and clean. It is a nice place to hang out with friends over ice cream.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, assisting in whichever way he could. I would be back to try...
