Hunan Garden — Restaurant in Houston

Since most people are more inclined to jump online and complain when they have a bad experience than they are to tell of a good experience, I thought I'd jump on and be positive. Some say it's a 9:1 ratio, I mean if all goes well you usually don't say anything. If it's awful you want to tell the world.

So anyway, after having been in Westchase for a while we had our regular Chinese delivery. But something has gone terribly wrong lately. So we jumped online and looked for delivery in the 77042/77063 area. Tried a couple others that were ok. Last night was Hunan Garden's turn.

Check this out: better prices, quicker delivery and better food. And get this....Are paying by cash or card? Card of course, who has cash. Ok, be there in 40 minutes. What? I don't have to recite 16 digits and an expiration date on the phone?? You have a mobile terminal? Awesome.

20 minutes later the food is here. It was great AND they remembered the chili oil I requested, which I am lucky if I get half the time when I order elsewhere. And it was hot as a mother. Wow.

Bonus: some of the richest, saltiest and most savory hot and sour soup ever. Never had anything like it but I'll be ordering it again soon.

Worst experience ever, I called inn an order from a flyer deliver at my business door... First off the prices on the flyer are not correct, they said were old prices and did not HONOR the deals. Second, I arrived 20mins after the order was placed and was still not ready, waited another 10 mins for my order to be completed, (SMELLY PLACE) Third, while I waited notice a woman came inn complaining she got charged twice for an order a day before, the person on register said she could not help because manager was not inn... while two other customers waited to be seated or greeted, another customer came saying they had put the wrong sauce onto their dish, the two waiting customers walk out after testifying the scenarios, I grabbed my lunch plate and I had a feeling already I was having another issue, Lastly the lunch special so I was told had an eggroll and wonton soup, none of that was in my bag, order a chicken lomein, and received a beef lomein, taste like nothing but grease! Will never come back! A business can be only be successful by having the right employees and management doing the...

Actually NO STARS... Dropped in for soup and an egg roll. Food was okay. As I was getting ready to leave I asked for some ice in my drink tankard. Waitress said "no ice"..."we have only bag ice"... So okay. I asked for a to go cup for the ice already in my water glass on the table. She got agitated..."no to go cup...you buy bottled water!" Well, I didn't want water, I wanted ice. So I said I'd go out to my car and get a cup and be back. Immediately they cleaned the table and threw away my ice. She started yelling at me " ice is dollar!" "I call police!!" I call police...filming on her phone. The other waiter yelling at me to leave...yelling with arms flailing!! She yells back at me..."...An you no leave tip!" I responded ...and THIS IS WHY!!! Back yelling about police...I left..but said no...I'll wait for the police...never came. And I had to leave. ....bottom line this place has no ice, no to go cups, no cordiality, wants a dollar for everything and is johnny on the spot to call the police. ...
