Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Houston

If you're eating in, it's fine, but don't bother ordering delivery. Freaky fast? Not a chance. No lunch again for my students.

About twice a month I order box lunches for the students at Second Baptist. The school is maybe a mile from this location. The school doesn't have a cafeteria, so when the food doesn't arrive, the kids don't get food. This is the third time, so 50% of the time, that my kids food is 30-45 minutes late. The first time was a driver had a flat tire, then the printer wasn't working, and this time was the driver forgot their phone so they couldn't deliver. (it's down the street) Both people I spoke to were condencending and rude and had different reasons why it was late. Mary said the system was down. I explained that it means my kids won't get to eat, to which Mary laughed about with other coworkers and said if I wanted the food delivered she needs to get off the phone or I need to cancel the order and joked about me being "very angry this morning" over the phone (which is already made and paid for) I said I'm not angry, I just want the food delivered, and yes I'm frustrated as a parent for my kids. I said I would like to speak to a manager about a credit on the account or a free cookie or something that this is happening so often with no apology or willingness to rectify the mistake. Again she laughed and said we will have to call you back later and hung up. From reviews I see this is a common experience. When the food does happen to arrive, it has been accurate and made well. This is by far the biggest waste of money ever spent for a sandwich. It’s total garbage. Little flavor other than salt. I threw the unwich in the trash!!! Totally sucked. I hope I get my $7.87 back. Hubby brought this to me because I had a heart Cath today and haven’t eaten and can’t drive. I was looking forward to this. Hubby said no one was there. Internet was down and kid working was rude. Kid made unwich while hubby called to see what I wanted on it. Kid got mad when he had to open it to add lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles - although, he really didn’t add much of anything. Also, no oil and vinegar as requested, no salt n pepper - worst ever! Wish I could drive - he’d be getting this back! Food was good for what it was: No frills cold sub. I like my sub toasted. Not an option here. They asked if you wanted cheese. It was extra and no options. No options on bread type or chips either. Staff okay, not especially friendly to a first time visit. In fact they acted board. Not unkind just : What do you want? Give me the number ! Don't ask questions! No atmosphere. Sparse sit down area. Very cramped. No good place to wait for order unless you like standing in the hall for the toilet rooms. They do have outside west facing tables. I had a roast beef sandwich regular larger than Subway 6 inch. Other person had mini tuna. Hot dog bun size. Both had oatmeal cookie ( very good ) , drink and chips. I understand they built the business on quick delivery. Might give that a try but no place for quick but...
