OMG !!! What can I say about this place so dear and special for my family, and especially for my husband who simply adores it and is his favorite restaurant, and not only for the impeccable diversity of hot dishes and sushi, sashimi and so many other delicacies of Japanese cuisine , you will die for, but mainly for the kindness, attention and a true friendship that started more than 12 years ago! Kirin is absolutely divine in every way, in a simple lunch, a dinner with friends and family, a celebration, a special day! And especially in this unique year 2020! Everyone, from the owners to the entire team with all dignity, remained “impeccable” !! Following to the extreme of Japanese culture, hygiene, cleanliness, perfect quality, respect and everything done as always, with the heart! I thank you with all my heart for all these years, and I highly recommend this more than special place !! Appreciate💞🤗 🌟 By the way my family, friends and me, we are 100% +, with our loved ones Camila and Matthew McConaughey to help our Home Sweet home Texas🤍♥️!!

Place was not too crowded for a Saturday lunch. Gloves were present at the buffet. Food turnover was very good. The kitchen and sushi bar were very busy bringing food out. Ice tea was excellent. Food itself was standard buffet quality. I did like the grilled fish though. Very good. Fried crabs were blue Chinese kind and were well prepared. Buffet was kind of small, but that enables control of the product. Oyster shells has some sort of stuffing on them. Short ribs, now a rare sight on buffets, were very tender and flavourful. Sushi was average. Rice was overall mushy and not well defined in granular texture. It was seasonsd well though. Some of the rolls had too much rice for my liking. For the sushi, fish portions were very generous, some even dwarfing the rice. The fish was firm and in very good condition. Highlights were the kiwi topped roll, and the peppered tuna and salmon rolls. Is it worth the 20 I paid for lunch? Probably not.

So we arrived right we dinner service started and most the food looked great but when it came to eating it, there was definitely some disappointment. the chicken that they used seem pretty low quality, I mean like school cafeteria quality(which is generally not good fyi) Also their I think it was baked salmon(or something I kinda forgot) had some pretty great seasoning but did taste a little old and their crab legs were pretty awful.I think it was snow crab legs and they are the tiniest legs with like no meat and tasted kinda bad... Like super low quality and yes it's a buffet but it's like 29 dollars per person for dinner (before tax and tips). Some of their food was good and I did enjoy but there was definitely a lack on quality of the ingredients. Won't be going back again though.

This is really a 2 1/2 star review as it was not at all good. The only thing it had that no other buffet has is the snow crab legs and that was the only reason we tried this place. At 29 dollars a person it wasn’t a terrible price considering you get other things too. The snow crab legs were good. sweet and meaty. I just prefer mine warm but they have it cold. my fingers get uncomfortably cold and I hate the feeling but that’s just me I guess. I didn’t like the way they put a small amount of the crab legs out. It was on a small plate. they would have to refill it over 5 + times per dinner I would assume.

As for the other food, the selection was very slim ( like one long table for main dish and 1 for dessert and salad) . Hardly any choices and the taste is not that great. Crawfish were black inside and dry which is an indication it may be frozen or just old and not fresh. Even this sushi area was just one small table. I don’t eat sushi so can’t comment There but slim selections too .

They had three types of cake - carrot , chocolate and coffee. The carrot and coffee were good. They literally put out only 4 slices out at a time was so strange. I mean most Buffet fill out the whole table with cakes but this one they just put a few at a time. They had a few cookies and some puffs but that’s it. no fruit except canned peaches. Worst dessert in all the buffets I have been to.

Overall a huge disappointment. Will not be...

Soooo I was in a very big dilemma when I was deciding to go to this restaurant because of the mixed reviews. Some of the recurring negative comments were that "there is a lot of empty pans on the serving line" or "it's to small in there dinner room" or even " the food isn't fresh enough". Some when I came to the restaurant I really understood what they comment's were saying, but they were leaving out the most important part of their review and it was the "why?" I found some of what they were saying to be true but when I sat down and began to eat I understand stood. The reason why there are some empty pans on the serving line its because the food is amazing!!! I mean its super fresh, hot and delicious. It seems like they just cook the right amount to keep the food tasting fresh so it worth the little time you wait for fresh food and it's never no longer than about 4 minutes on a new dish. People are eating the food so far because it really good. The dinner room looks small but where your sitting down you really can't tell. The food here is fresh, hot and delicious!!! This is a must try!!! And definitely worth...

Have you wondered why this place is open for about 7 hours a day? Well it’s because they over charger ridiculously on the bill and tip for mediocre food. The food was dried and cold. There were very little times where I found warm food but nothing freshly hot. The shrimp was breaking apart. You would think at least the sushi bar would be good but not at all. The fish was dried and everything looked like it was there for a whole day. When the bill came we paid about $190 which included tip. The tip was included so you don’t get to pick how much you give to them. It was for a family of 7 and 3 kids that didn’t really eat because of the limited amount of selection. The $24 tip was charged with the bill. Usually we pay around $80 at a regular buffet with a $5 tip. But I’m telling you I was in shock. The tip should be given out of the heart as generosity, not forced. The workers there are already getting paid. And they want us to pay more just because they refill and picked up our plates?! They can easily fool people because it’s “exotic food” but be careful guys! Get your money worth of food...
