Hi! Do you close at 12 or 1pm? "We close at noon during covid, but I'll be here another half an hr. What's your name?"

I had been reading reviews of donut places for two weeks. I was going to pull the trigger last week, but I learned instead that some places' hours were not in line with covid operating hours.

This was the second place I called today, and the man who answered was Henry, the owner.

I walked in thinking I would get a few things, but I ended up getting something like half a dozen Kolaches and half a dozen donuts. Henry and his wife included a free donut and a kolache - and I came home and found out he had included some donut holes as well. So nice!

What I thought was interesting was that they fill the filled donuts to order. I ordered lemon, raspberry, and strawberry - and got the first two but came home to find the last one was Bavarian creme, which I don't like - but I did order a lot, so I understand.

Cake donuts tend to be my favorites, but I wasn't a fan of the blueberry and pumpkin cake donuts here.

The kolache dough is nice - slightly sweet and pillowy - it almost reminds me of Hawaiian King Bread.

Favorites were: Glazed twist - I would've loved cinnamon sugar on that Lemon filled donut Donut Holes (slightly chewy) Boudin kolache Jumbo jalapeño sausage kolache Sausage and gravy kolache Italian chicken kolache

I'll be...

If you're looking for high-quality kolaches with top-notch customer service, look no further than Kolache Bar!

I've always been a huge fan of kolaches and spent a while trying out various shops in the greater Houston area. That search quickly ended as soon as I tried my first kolache at the original Kolache Bar location on Westheimer.

The way that the owner, Nate, has crafted his dough recipe makes the kolaches almost melt in your mouth. One thing that I've noticed many kolache shops fail in is their filling-to-bread ratio; it always seems like other shops use too much bread and not enough filling. But Kolache Bar has the perfect proportions.

And what really sells the whole experience is the amazing customer service. The owners really take time to get to know their customers and greet them with a smile. The passion they have for what they do is extremely evident and they're some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. It's also a plus that they don't shy away from free samples!

Kolache Bar is hands-down the best Kolache shop in Houston. If you're trying to find your spot for donuts and kolaches, you can end your...

I had an amazing experience at Kolache Bar in the Energy Corridor thanks to the incredible service from Thida Preap and Henry Muon. From the moment I walked in, both of them greeted me with genuine smiles and warm energy that instantly made me feel welcome.

Thida was attentive and helpful, guiding me through the menu with great recommendations that were spot on. She made sure my order was perfect and checked in to ensure I had everything I needed without ever being intrusive. Henry, meanwhile, was equally impressive—super friendly, efficient, and clearly passionate about creating a great customer experience.

The teamwork between Thida and Henry made the visit smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in what they do. With employees like them, it's no surprise this place has such a great reputation. I'll definitely be coming back—and bringing friends!

Thank you, Thida and Henry, for going...

Our New GO-TO Donut Shop!! During COVID, we've made it our mission to try and support more "Mom & Pop" businesses in the area. Based on other reviews, we thought we would give this place a try - they did not disappoint! Everything is made FRESH!! The donuts are light, but filling at the same time - without being too sweet. The kolaches are AWESOME! Being a gluten for mash up flavors, the bomber is my favorite. In terms of the owners, they are incredibly kind and courteous. We've been there three times now and they already know to pull a pink sprinkle doughnut for me (for my daughter)- that kind of customer service is hard to find! We are Kolache Bar fans for life!

We tried Kolache Bar for the first time. My wife put in a request for ham & cheese kolache, but said they don't have it on their website, only sausage. I was amazed at how many flavors they had, not only Kolaches, but Cresents and donuts. My wife & son are very picky, they both gave Kolache Bar a 10 on donuts and Kolaches. We didn't try Cresents this trip. The yoke in the bacon and egg kolache was perfect. The other pictures are the sausage & gravy, beef curry, macaroni & Bavarian cream. Best donut and kolache dough ever.

I love supporting local businesses like this because they make it so easy. Treated like family the moment you walk in and the kolaches are interesting and delicious- winning combination. We were also treated to a fresh apple fritter as well because it was our first time visiting, which was the cherry on top of an already delightful experience. Plus, after some research I also found out how this family helped feed the first responders during Harvey too? It's a no-brainer frequenting a place like this!
