We were asked to sit on the other side where no one else was sitting apparently so there would be more room for the babies carrier. We said no we would like to sit where we felt comfortable. We are paying after all. Once we got to where we were we asked for a high chair. We were told we could not have one due to it being in the way of employee walking by with plates and beverages which made no sense. The whole time there we didn’t see anyone with loads of plates/cup, of any sort. I said it was fine my toddler would sit on my lap. My baby in the carrier on the side of me to end the tension. The manager I assume that’s who she was Hispanic long pony tail had lots of attitude for no reason. My grandmother talking to meeeeeee in Spanish said “here she doesn’t want to” referring to my toddler not wanting to sit with her. The manger jumping at a chance of conflict said it’s not that we don’t want to we can’t have a high chairs here my grandmother nicely said I was referring to the child not the chair. My mother in law was yes visibly upset hearing no we can’t have a high chair returned the attitude she was being given. She said you guys don’t serve us we serve ourselves that makes no sense. The manager told her host you know we can’t have high chairs here. Again not knowing any information yet making statements. Wasn’t our intention to cause the host trouble we just asked to sit were we wanted. It’s the first time any restaurant tried to force us to sit where they want. It wasn’t even full where we asked to sit. We order our drinks. A sprite, tea, coke, and Dr Pepper. Me and my mother in law went to serve ourselves. My grandmother waited for our drink. The manager had a coke my grandmother asked me from a distance did you order a coke I said no Dr Pepper. I wasn’t sure why she asked until I returned. I seen a lemonade I told her I didn’t order a lemonade was it my mother in law. My grandmother said I’m not sure. We asked she said no she didn’t order a lemonade either she order a coke. So it was the lemonade they brought to the table that had cause the confusion between the manager and my grandmother. Wasn’t to be malicious or ugly it was simply a mistake on their part that we honestly got confused. My mother in law tried to reorder her coke and return the lemonade which the manager made a big deal. Interrogating my grandmother saying you said you wanted a Dr Pepper which was why I took the coke back. That’s what you said right ? Which I don’t get I had jobs in hospitality. It’s not an easy job but never would I create more tension. We were taught to defuse situations not make them worse. The lady with short hair who was kind taking our plates smiling and happy it why I put a 2 she was the only nice one. The manager and other Hispanic girl with the mask on could be seen gossiping and manger staring us down while we ate, very unprofessional. 3 because some food was hot and some not at all. 1 because after all that how could it be a...
Read moreHaven't been to Lambo buffet in over a year but was in the area. Probably won't be back for another year or so. It was the dinner hour so stopped in. An adult meal was $12.00 and $2.00 extra for a soda. I immediately noticed that there was like a 10' section of the hot food pans that was steaming but no food and also about a 10' section on the cold items buffet line empty and covered up as well so just slightly limited but still enough choices for most folks. The food was off temperature even though the sneeze guards appeared to be fogged up by the steam... which I think affected the taste of everything negatively. The cooked seasoned shrimp and shrimp skewers were over cooked and it was time consuming pealing the shells off... unless you like eating shell and all. Both the shrimp and the crawfish needs to be purged or cleaned better and there was an obvious dirty seawater smell that was evident. The baked fish, won ton soup, fried rice and ice cream were probably what saved the experience. One important negative action I watched the floor wait staff do which is a giant NO NO is when cleaning off surrounding tables, they were mindful to save the paper napkins the customers didn't use and place them back in a stack by the waiter/waitress station so they can give them to the next customer that needs extra napkins. I'm a City of Houston certified Food Manager and this action is NOT allowed period. The hostess was also seating customers back to back with no effort to observe social distancing guidelines. The staff seem to stay gloved and masked up but I watched a number of customers not even bother to put on the gloves that were provided... with a few of them not even masking up when they were spooning...
Read moreWas there when it opened for lunch on 12/30/21 and at first it was ok because not many people there and there was plenty of space but as it began filling up I noticed people weren't wearing masks at the food bar and a lot of them were coughing and sneezing all over the restaurant, even one of the employees so I didn't stay as long as I normally would have .Another thing I noticed was that other than myself ,a black man and one old white lady, most of the people here were working class Hispanics ,and anyone who lives in Houston know that is a bad sign for how good a buffet is going to be because as long as it's cheap they really don't care how it taste. And sure enough the food wasn't anything special, a lot of over cooked chicken that was either too salty or too sweet. I didnt dare try the fish .There was pizza and a few other dishes that dont belong in an Asian buffet .The general tso chicken waa mostly just very chewy dough that was more like bubble gum than chicken I chewed and chewed and I never broke it down at all ,and most of what it was dough with no meat in it all .The fried rice was the kind you get at most of these buffets ,no real taste at all and totally lacking in flavor . The fruit and veggie bar was almost non-existent with only honey dew melon and chopped radish and pretty much nothing else . The dessert bar was several kinds of jello and the usual tasteless ice cream with a few cookies and that was it . The price being $12 with no drink was hardly worth it ,and the lack of any safety measures being enforced means this is one place I will never go to again. And...
