I understand that this store has no say so over the type of clientele that shop at this store. But given this store is located in the “high rent district “, I expected clientele that matches the area. Nope! Instead it’s the type of people with a wild kids running wild and almost knocking disabled folks like myself down. The kids have absolutely no manners or values and don’t say excuse me, they just barrel through and roughhouse in the aisles while the parents walk off. It is not our jobs as the public or the staffs to babysit their kids! And when they get hurt due to the parents negligent supervision, they will try to blame the store and sue when it was THEIR NEGLIGENCE. This clientele also doesn’t understand social norms in this country it seems. They put their cart in the middle of the already narrow/ cluttered aisles and are oblivious when people need to get by and just look at you when you loudly say excuse me ! Also, if you’re coming here thinking you’re going to get high end stuff to sell (I can’t stand flippers !!!) you will be sorely disappointed. Now. I did find some great dishware and some normal clothing that fits me, but because I’m not a flipper and have an actual job/ business I’m not shopping like the typical thrift shopper does. There is no LV, Gucci, Prada, or other brands flippers tend to try their get rich schemes on. The AA male manager is super nice and took the time to show me things locked up in the glass cabinets . He told me to cut the line and go back to the register I was at. The female cashier said “the line is back there !” I kept telling her he told me to cut the line and she looked incredulous about it and then he told her he did in fact tell me this and to ring me up . She was not very friendly at all. Also, there’s an older white woman employee who needs a MAJOR attitude adjustment asap(I would’ve been glad to teach her about customer service and how you treat customers because she copped an attitude with me ). Apparently I was in Miss Astor’s way. She screamed for me basically to move, she needed to get by. Another employee asked something about what she was doing and she said loudly so I could hear, “WELL IM TRYINGGGG TO GET BY!!!” As a dig towards me. How about telling the dozens of other customers to move too while you’re at it ? And do something about their multiple wild kids running wild around the store without supervision, barging their way down aisles and being rude to adults ? How about stopping the negligent supervision by their parents and announcing to keep your kids with you like other stores ? The heights location will not tolerate this and WILL nip it in the bud. But no, they’re too busy having their grumpy employees who clearly hate their jobs ball disabled customers out because they’re in their...
Read moreI come in 9 minutes before closing. I know I know, it's frowned upon. But I don't have the energy to explain the issues I had today that led me to a short amount of time to try to look for a specific type of wooden large furniture. Anyway, the manager has the entry door locked while customers are inside. With 9 mins left of open business. The guy signals thru the window, "we're closed" and I scoff and say "prove it". A customer walks out, and I walk in. The manager is barking at me trying to scare me off. We spent 1 minute going back and forth at each other. I walk away to the furniture aisle to check REAL QUICK if there was a perfect sized dresser for what I need. While I'm in the back area, a red shirt employee says politely "we got 5 mins left before we close sir" and my jaw drops as I realize the store manager was obviously lying, and trying to scare me off, and while there was a complete gentleman who had the customer as a priority. I tell him "thank you so much" because he really eased my nerves. I don't really get upset at anything in life, but the way that manager was talking to me had my blood boiling. As I'm walking out the store empty handed, WITH 6.5 minutes left before closing, I tell the manager that one of his employees just outshined you, and proved you wrong. Now that I look back at it, I had a great time, thanks to that random red shirt staff member who reassured me I was ok to be in the store. That guy didn't even hear his manager trying to scare me off, the red shirt guy came out the back back when he saw me and said "5 more minutes sir". Protect red shirt man at...
Read moreI used to love shopping at this store—it was always clean, well-organized, and the associates were friendly and helpful. However, I hadn’t visited since early April 2025, and when I returned on July 30, 2025, I was shocked by how much things had changed—for the worse.
The store was a complete mess. Items were scattered all over the floor, making it hard to walk through the aisles. There were no shopping carts returned to the front, the books were completely disorganized, and the back area with the furniture looked like a disaster zone. It honestly looked like no one cared.
Even more disappointing was the attitude of the staff. None of the associates looked happy to be there, and it showed in the lack of upkeep throughout the store. I don’t know what happened to the team that used to work there, but something clearly changed—and not for the better.
This used to be one of my go-to spots, but after this visit, I’m not sure I’ll be coming back. Management really needs to step in and get this place...
