I walked in the mall today to get chick fil a with the fam. But once I passed thru this Master Wok they offered samples which I tried the shrimp and liked the flavor. So me and my eldest daughter decided to eat at Master wok for instead. I went back told them I came back because I liked the shrimp and ordered my meal. I choose fried rice, sliced beef, breaded shrimp and two chicken. I ordered other items and once I payed and sat down I opened to enjoy my food and the shrimp was missing. I got up and went back to inquire about my missing food item. He replied he was sorry he didnāt hear me and gave me a side. Then told me to head to the cashier and she would take care of me. Once at the cashier she was charging me 5.99 for a side of shrimp. I told her why if I had already ordered to and she said I only got charged for a two side meal so it would have to be full price. I told her it was too much it was originally supposed to be to be included in the three meal price. She said she couldnāt do anything so I asked to speak to the manager. Well he was the one that prepared my meal and when I questioned about the price and his mistake he said he gave me what I asked for. I asked if the price can be changed to reflect the difference only and he said he wasnāt able to. Even tho he is the manager and probably able to make those decisions he acted like a regular employee. I told him I was disappointed and if I canāt just pay the difference then Iām just going to have to return my meal. Instead of him working with me and meeting half way he said he would give me a refund. I brought back my meal and he returned my portion of the money. Wow is this customer service . I even told him when I started my meal that I was originally going to chick fil an and decide to come to them instead because the food seemed more to my liking. He said this is better, I guess the food not the service. In a world where we have many options and can choose where to spend our hard earned money this will definitely hurt your progress. With simple minded employees like this your business will not grow past good food. Learn from others and include good hospitality and customer service. To say the least I will never go back to Master Wok and I will make sure others know my story so they can avails the ugly feeling of returning your meal and having to go look for another place to eat while your family is enjoying their food. All this for a dumb side of shrimp and your lack of attention to details. This employee represents...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaster Wok at Memorial CityMall foodc Houston Texas cheated me when i bought their food with my credit card . It was a chicken bourbon with green beans a $6.99+$2= $8.99+tax, my usual plate whenever i buy food there. Master Wok ended up withdrawing $12.11 from my credit card probably by adding on a tip after i had left... I did not keep the receipt because i am a regular at this food court and most of the merchants there have me as a customer. When i complained to the management a few days later, thinking that the matter could easily be resolved .. the (older) chinese manager said how do you know we added on a tip? And demanded to see my receipt. When i show him my banking statement with American Express for my food purchases at Memorial City Mall food court, he argued & then said there was nothing he could do...even though all his employees know me as a regular. He stated that i could have bought something more on that day... And demanded the receipt. For $2 discrepancies and the refusal to trust the word and complaint of a regular customer, Master Wok just lost $10/week from my patronage. Be careful when you buy food here ... Since they now have started cheating & credit card companies do allow restaurant merchants to add on the tips to their credit card vouchers. Needless to say, Master Wok no longer has my business in order to cheat me again. Sarku Japan & BistroThai are just as good with their stir-fry items. But yes, i'm still disappointed that the chinese place cheated me, and management couldn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to the food court to have something. The staff from the this shop was calling for trying out sample. So we thought of trying it out. As soon as we touched the sample, (haven't tried it yet), the man in the photos with a circle on it, started to ask what we are going to order and asked repeatedly, until we answered. Weird behavior.
Yet we decided to order since they have more variations in food than the other asian restaurants there. Normally in this type of restaurants, I order rice and vegetable half and half for the entree and other restaurants do not charge extra. But they did. I don't have any problem to pay extra for that. But they did not put this extra charge anywhere, not in their menu and didn't even tell us.
When I saw the charge on the receipt, I checked again to make sure if it was my fault or theirs. Checked the menu again and asked them about the extra charge. When we tried to talk with that man, he ignored us totally. So we took the photos to let you people know.
If you are inviting people to try out sample, give them time to decide and please do not put hidden charges on the receipt. I do understand the frustration with the inflation, but the hidden charge, to me it...
