Casual counter service American fare. Chicken fried steak, bbq ribs, burgers, tacos, salads, and more. I came here because I was craving a decent chicken fried steak, and I was not disappointed. At $20, it beats other higher priced restaurants in Houston serving CFS. It's easier to find a good CFS in a small town. Fun factoid: CFS may have originated in Texas from German immigrants combining schnitzel and abundant texas beef. Food: it was all top-notch. My CFS was breaded perfectly and was crispy, not greasy, and smothered perfectly with the right amount of jalapeño cream gravy (not spicy). Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Green beans were tasty and fresh. We also had the red snappper fish tacos that were bright and fresh with a side some pretty good creamed corn. If only they served okra! Service: Counter service is where you order at the entry counter, and they bring the food to your table located via pager. Self sevice drinks at a dispenser unless you opt for alcohol or specialty drink at the order counter. Fast enough but not much service to judge from compared to a traditional sit down service. It's hard to rate high when it's a basic service/almost self-service. I will admit they bus the patio quickly so flies are not an issue and the staff seemed efficient and well trained. Atmosphere: Casual and relatively busy. A good family place. We enjoyed the less quiet and less noisy outdoor patio, which was tolerable in the sultry sauna like houston summer heat with a light shower. They do have adequate air movement with the fans going.

Nestled in a sea of ample parking, Mia Table greeted us with a promising setup and aesthetic charm that set the tone for our dining experience. The patio, especially, offered a delightful spot for a leisurely lunch. Our party decided to dive into a diverse selection of Mia Table's offerings. The cheeseburger and fries combo took us on a nostalgic trip, reminiscent of the classic taste from a certain fast-food giant - a solid 2 out of 5. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark of culinary innovation. Moving on to the chips and cheese, the deep taste hinted at a taco seasoning adventure. While it might appeal to some taste buds, it wasn't exactly my cup of tea, earning it another 2 out of 5. Personal preferences played a significant role in this rating. The chicken-fried steak and sweet potato fries showcased Mia Table's attempt at culinary variety. While the concept was intriguing, the execution left us wanting more. A respectable 2.5 out of 5 for the effort put into this dish. Now, let's talk about the onion rings. Visually stunning, they lured us in with high expectations. However, the taste fell short of the visual promise, earning them a subpar rating - a solid 2 out of 5. In summary, Mia Table leaves a lasting impression with its inviting ambiance and scenic surroundings. The food, on the other hand, falls into the realm of mediocrity, with hits and misses that might appeal to different palates. If you're in the mood for a relaxing environment and don't mind sacrificing a bit on the culinary front, Mia Table could be the spot for you.

What an amazing experience I had eating here. When you walk in it's as if a sense of joy comes over you because of the nostalgic atmosphere as if I was in my granny's house for Sunday dinner. The food was amazing. I ordered the onion rings for my appetizer. They were crispy and tasteful, the dipping sauce was so good. For my meal I ordered the southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. My friend ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac-n-cheese. We got out food within maybe 15-20 mins, not a long wait at all. Chicken (Southern Fried and the Chicken Fried Chicken) Seasoned very well and moist. When I say the skin was seasoned as well as the meat. Even when you order to go by the time you get it home the skin is still crispy. I was able to have it as left overs and reheating it in my toaster the skin was still crispy and meat was still moist. Very good chicken. Mashed potatoes was seasoned as well and very delicious and the creamed corn was sweet and great corn to creamed corn ratio. The Mac-n-Cheese was creamy and cheesy. The noodles were not mushy or hard, they were just right. The bluebell chocolate shake was soooooo good and chocolatey. They give you the extra too. Overall we had a great experience and have returned twice and will be visiting again. It's a casual place to go for a date and a great family spot as well! They also have seating outside like a covered patio. You will not be disappointed, give it

Food is delicious, service is trash!!

I came in yesterday around 3. It was not crowded at all. I noticed that people who were seated after us had been getting their food. I saw a server take food that looked like my order to a table next to me. The people were saying that wasn’t their order. So I realize she took my food to the wrong table which I didn’t want after others had been picking all over it.

I went to the troubleshooting area asking what was going on with my food. The girl standing there kept saying, huh, you like your food? I was in disbelief that nobody there could understand what I was saying!! There was a language barrier which was not helpful to me.

Some guy came over and said they had my food “right there”. I said, no she took that food to another table and I no longer want it. So, there’s this table full of workers sitting and hanging around. They took my fish/shrimp platter that I didn’t want and started eating it!!! (Are they purposefully messing up orders so they can eat it?!)

They took the burgers to the back and suddenly multiple workers are coming in and out of the kitchen eating the sweet potato fries!!! I was literally in disbelief because they truly didn’t GAF!!

They finally got my orders ready which I stood there to make sure they didn’t give me anything wrong. Sure enough we get to the table and there’s mustard on the burger we said no mustard on!!

What pisses me off more is that NOBODY came over to check if everything was ok? What was the problem? Is the order correct now? They did not care! All they did was sit around and eat and mingle as though they didn’t just make paying customers have a bad experience!

The service is garbage, they can’t even do the basic requirements- speak and understand customers!! Definitely will not be returning to...

My favorite restaurant at the moment. I come here for the atmosphere and the chicken tacos! They're so good!

Edit: We are now in October 2021, more than 1 and a half years after the pandemic started, and this is still my favorite place to go. Their food and service has been top notch for so long that I wish I could give them a sixth star.

Sure, there has been the occasional visit that was not as great but the average visit in my experience has been worth a 45 minute drive (one way) in my opinion. More on that later.

Once, I got my usual order and they didn't put as many pieces of chicken as they usually do. Another time, it was lukewarm as if my food was the first plate ready but they let it sit and cool off while making the food for the rest of my table... But with so many good experiences on other visits, it's understandable that it happens from time to time.

Often times the parking lot has been full; not the FREE parking garage across the street, but just the lot for Mia's. Once or twice there have been kids running around or a table of loud people. Those things I'm willing to let go because it's not the restaurant's fault.

My only real complaint is that they're not closer. As I said earlier, I drive 45 minutes from my house to go to this location. It is THAT good in my opinion. I've been to the location in The Woodlands which is almost just as far from me. That location is just not the same. I wish I could just transplant this entire restaurant and it's staff to out here closer to me (I'm in Kingwood) so I didn't have to drive so far. But since I can't, I do this drive once a week at least and for the foreseeable future, I plan...

We visited Mia's on a Saturday afternoon and all I can say is where has this place been all my life! It isn't a huge place and it seems that a LOT of people really like this place and they pack it!

The basketball team that my girlfriend's grandson plays on decided on Mia's after the last game of the season. I has never heard of it, but I was open to trying it out. Approaching this Upper Kirby location (a block east of Kirby, in a neighborhood behind a shopping strip center) I figured parking would be a concern. The parking lot is not very big, but luckily there is a parking garage just across the street. There are tables outside near the parking lot and along the wrap around porch. Inside, there are a good number of tables and enough room to accommodate a few large parties. They also have a party room.

Ordering was interesting. The line was out the door, but not because there were lots of people in line, but because of the two registers being just to the right as soon as you walk in the door, only accommodating queue of two or three guests. An additional registers has to be used to assist with the crowd. I ordered a "half-pound brisket burger" that came with French fries. Michelle got the burger, too, opting for sweet potato fries. My kiddo ordered chicken tenders. I was given a buzzer, but it never went off. Maybe they used GPS to find out tables .

Alas, the food arrived and it was very satisfying! My well-done burger was flame-broiled to perfection and it was juicy! I has a strawberry lemonade that had me going back for seconds and thirds.

They also have free ice cream cones for the kid (and adults who are...
