Probably the rudest experience at a restaurant I have been to. Their Google page says closes at 2am. We get their at 11:30pm for a late dinner. They let us know they are closing at 12am. But they seat us. Server comes by at 11:40pm we ask if we can order food. She says yes and takes our order. At 12am another worker comes up and says we have to kick you out now because we close at midnight, this man was there when we were sat the server or him should not have sat us at a table and they should have told us the kitchen was closed. As he is telling us we need to leave the food runner is bringing us our food on plates. He says they will get us boxes so we can leave. They bring boxes and we start to pack it up. It then takes them another 20 minutes to get us the bill so we can pay. It took so long to get the check we ended up just eating our food out of the to go containers. It was 12:25am by the time we got our checks to pay. There were several other people still at the resteraunt drinking. Their posted hours are wrong. We asked if we could order food they said yes then tried to kick us out before the food got to us.

Paparruchos on Sage Road – A Hidden Gem for Ribeye Tacos I like this place for a few reasons, but the main one? Their authentic ribeye tacos with spicy jalapeño crema—hands down, the best I’ve had in Houston. The thinly sliced, flavorful ribeye combined with the heat of the crema makes for an unforgettable bite. Located in the Galleria area and surrounded by several hotels, Papparruchos has an interesting vibe, especially at night. The crowd is a mix of locals and travelers, and while the drinks are cheap, so are the bartenders—but not in a bad way! It’s just not quite what you’d expect in the Galleria, given the high-end restaurants nearby. That said, the staff was friendly, polite, and professional, making for an enjoyable experience. Beyond the tacos, the fajita torta sandwich is also solid. And if you’re into karaoke, they’ve got a Wednesday night session starting at 10 PM—definitely worth checking out. Would I go back? Absolutely. If nothing else, just for those delicious, savory ribeye tacos.

We stopped in at 11 pm on Sunday night due to lack of options for food to go. There was no host at the front stand so we went to the bar. The place was not busy. At least 5 different employees behind the bar looked at us but did not greet us and were not wearing masks. We asked if we could still order food and a female bar tender told us to scan the QR code for the menu. We ordered simple steak tacos. We asked for water while we waited and bar tender never gave it to us. She proceeded to serve other guests beers though. The food was ready 5-10 minutes after placing the order. The bar automatically charged 18% gratuity when we only ordered one entree. Would not recommend. Would not go back. Rude staff who are not welcoming or friendly and don’t wear masks. Below average food. The tacos and chips were bland. The sauces that came with them were decent.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Went here for a surprise party and my friend helped me call and book a table. She was told they were no longer serving alcohol but we could bring our own and they would PROVIDE the mixers for us.

Got there and everything was good except it was completely empty on a Saturday night and service was somehow completely slow still. Some of us didn’t get water till about 30 min after arriving. We only had one guy helping us and he did not seem like a waiter might have been a manager.

We finally got our mixers as they had told us they would provide for us if we brought our own liquor only to make a big deal about us having the receipts for the liquor we brought. We were not told this at all when we called to make a reservation and my friend spoke to them 3 times on the phone. So we ended having to hide our bottles Incase an inspector came in.

Finally we finished eating and I was pulled aside by our “waiter” and told that some of my friends that had left did not want to contribute to pay for the mixers which was an $80 CHARGE! He wanted me to pay $80 dollars for two pitchers one with orange juice and one with cranberry juice!! That is ridiculous! This was very irritating because the least they could have done was tell us we were going to be charged for the mixers and on top of that they should have completely told us how much!!!! $80 is a lot for orange juice and cranberry juice not to mention we brought our own pineapple juice and margarita mix and if I would have know I was going to be charged $80 I would have just brought all of my own mixers.

To make matters worse when we finally figured out there was no way around paying the $80 we told him to split it between 4 of us on our checks and he said it was impossible because we had to pay the $80 IN CASH ONLY! They were literally just trying to make as much money out of us as possible.

I was so upset because we picked this place thinking it would be so great because of the music, food and drink and atmosphere and the only thing good was the food.

The place was completely dead Im guessing because they aren’t serving alcohol and the service was horrible. Needles to say we left upset and left no tip. I’ve never had such horrible service from a restaurant. This place used to be good but it went downhill fast. I’m never going back again and neither are any of the 20+ people in my...

We arrive to Paparruchos in Galleria/Uptown at 1AM pay $10 for valet, $10 dollars of cover and decided to opened a tab. We order two margaritas on the bar outside and the margaritas were undrinkable. We had to ask for the bartender to remake them. We indeed enjoyed the music and relax until the 2AM, until it was time to close our tab. The bartender stated that we never gave her a credit card nor opened a tab! So there we are at 2:17AM trying to figure out where is the credit card. Needless to say frustrated and upset about the situation. When the manager (I believe his name is Julio) got involve this was even worse. He was very condescending and passive aggressive insinuating we were lying. He asked us how long have we been in Houston for and if we did not know to not leave a credit card in a bar?! Really?! He stated that he had cameras all over and he could check if we in fact had given the credit card to his bartender. When we asked to do so since we did not want someone else with this particular credit card he also said and I quote “I don’t give a f* if there are any charges to your card. You can call us tomorrow and we can look into this”. We are extremely upset with how the situation was handle. A simple “we are sorry about misplacing your card we will make sure no fraudulent charges are done on our end and if found will call you to let you know” would have done it for us. However implying that we were lying, asking us how long have we have been in Houston for, and threaten us that he could check cameras and even worse, stating that he did not give a F* is all what we take from this 1st time visit to the Paparruchos! Ended up canceling the credit card on our way home. Calling again the following morning as we saw a fraudulent charge to the credit card. Having to change credit card numbers to some accounts linked to this credit card. This is really not the best way to start your Sunday morning. All because we made the mistake of stopping for an hour at Paparruchos for a late night “undrinkable margarita”. Ironically, I was thinking about booking a party here but now I will be telling everyone I know what happened and how this was handle. Way to go Julio… great...

Go anywhere else. 😡😡😡😡 Sub-par food and according to my experience and reviews, SHADY business practices.

Chose restaurant due to late night hours and proximity to hotel. Food for group of 11 was mediocre at best and cleanliness was questionable. Once food was served, service was non existent even though there were only about two other tables occupied. Staff and owner sat on their phones.

When it came time to getting our checks, receipts were not provided and blonde waitress did not advise anyone that gratuity was already included charging half of our party’s individual checks plus almost 40% tip. We got back to our hotel and received a call from the remaining members of our party saying we had to go back because all our pending charges had been cancelled accidentally. We went back showed proof of payment but the cocky gentleman supervisor ( who proclaimed to be the owner’s son) insisted we pay again and pending charges would drop by the next day. Tired and frustrated we eventually agreed to pay again and return the next day if he was wrong. Next day comes a lo and behold the double charges started posting. We returned and a second manager ( woman) played dumb and said papachurro’s son was not available. She refused to return our money and requested we leave our information and she would call us the next day. On day 3 there was no contact and we returned yet again. Luckily we had good timing and we’re told papachurro’s son was on his way. We waited and when he arrived he moped around ignoring us and was deeply offended that we wanted our money back. He yet again tried to weasel his way out by offering us a check. 😂 . At this point it was just comical, maybe he should have a stand up night. He eventually gave us back our money cash but there is no way he can replace the time we lost on our trip dealing...
