DO NOT BUY MIXED DRINKS, you will be sadly disappointed when your drink arrives highly watered down but yet you are paying more for a drink here than at a regular bar!
We visited on March 14, to celebrate our youngest turning 21, and we left extremely disappointed in the service, drinks and the entertainment.
We used to come frequently before Covid, and this was our 2nd visit after Covid... and I have to say we highly enjoyed ourselves in the past. We went out of our way just to come to Pete's, but we will never come to the Houston location again, after our last visit.
I asked for a long Island iced tea and it was literally a splash of deep Eddie's sweet tea a splash of deep Eddie's lemon and the rest of the drink was water, it quite literally tasted like ice water with lemon. It wasn't just that, the drink was also half the size in a plastic cup that was generally reserved for water. I got a second one thinking, it's early maybe the bar tender just made it incorrectly, the second one tasted exactly the same as the first one. I told our waitress about the issue and she became very defensive stating they have a proprietary recipe for long Island iced teas and that it has 4 different alcohols in it... OK yes long Island iced teas do contain 4 different alcohols... but what I got was iced water with lemon and I paid long Island iced tea prices for it. I order long Island iced teas because of the alcohol content and it gets me drunk quickly. The waitress stated that it had the legal amount of alcohol in the drink, which is ridiculous... after 2 even half long Island iced teas I am pleasantly buzzed, and that was not the case.
My son got a margarita and he too stated that his drink tasted nothing like a margarita.
Not only was the waitress just hanging around the bar most of the night, the bar tender was in no hurry to get our drinks, it took over 20 minutes to get 2 beers. I think the bar tender was in slow motion the entire night.
The greeter that checked our id's was also less than pleasant, he looked like he was about to fall asleep and had issues reading our sons id and wanted to put a bracelet on him for being under age... which he wasn't.
Now the thing we look forward to the most... the entertainment, was a total train wreak. Most of the songs were terrible and I had never heard of them, and while I understand the songs are requested by the audience it also seemed like they picked and chose which ones they knew. They sang great, but the song choices were terrible.
After 2 1/2 hours, no one in our party was even close to being drunk or even buzzed and we were sadly so disappointed in everything, we refused to stay longer.
I miss the old entertainment crew - Tyler, Greg (yes he is still there), Josh and Joy... it will never...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed with our recent experience at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar in Houston. My fiancé and I visited to celebrate his birthday, but what should have been a joyous occasion quickly turned into an infuriating and unpleasant evening.
I tipped $20 for a SPECIFIC birthday SONG request in the hopes of creating a memorable moment, only to have it devolve into a series of crude, demeaning comments aimed at my fiancĆ© while he was on stage. Rather than hearing the SONG I requested, OR the fun and lively performance that was expected, he was subjected to a series of small genital insults for several minutesāan experience that was not only degrading but also entirely uncalled for. With regard to the joking atmosphere of Pete's, the musicians have ZERO consideration for a memorable time VS. a light-hearted joking time.
Furthermore, the drinks we ordered were noticeably watered down and lacked any discernible alcohol content, which further diminished the value of our visit. We also provided tips of $50+ for song requests that, unfortunately, were never played. Instead, the pianists chose to repeat the same songs, making it evident that they were not listening to or respecting the requests made by the patrons.
To cap it all off, we opted for the $200 baby grand piano marquee bottle service, which was, without question, the worst bottle service Iāve ever encountered. The overall experience was far from the high-energy, celebratory atmosphere that one would expect from such a venue.
Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Peteās Dueling Piano Bar. It was a complete disappointment, and we will not be returning for any future events. If youāre seeking a memorable and enjoyable night out, I would suggest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is musically a great place, but beware!!!!! their racism is up to the skies. we went with our friends to a nearby event at house of blues, fantastic, when it was done we saw pete's dueling pianos and we decided to have some drinks and enjoy, all was good till someone left and I dare to nicely ask about the empty seats. So far we were standing in the back and consuming as regular patrons; i made the mistake of sitting on those seats and all hell come loose. they threw my drink in to the trash ask me to leave, insulted my race( I am Hispanic) insulted my girlfriend and my friends. All just because I dare to joke and ask why could not I sit there. They drop my drink in a near trash can and that of my companions. I am sure now that someone paid money to the guy to have those seats reserved, barred actual reservation, but because of some unofficial agreement to which I complied immediately. Never in my years as a Latino legal immigrant in this country i have felt the discrimination so fresh in any establishment like I just did in Pete's dueling pianos. I was not explained the reasons I even have an armed guard threaten me and my friends just to drop their drinks after mine in the trash can and leave, these friends are native Texans, so the silver lightning is to show them what we, the minorities, have to go through in this situations. I am ready to go even more public with this. So feel free to contact me this way and I would love to share my experience. this is beyond of being a human being, this is about racism, discrimination of who I was as a Latino immigrant, not about what is...
