ATTENTION: I love this place just hate the guy with the ugly mustache. He's very disrespectful to me and my family. My mother is 25 years sober and she got a nonalcoholic margarita and he keep suggesting to get alcohol after she repeated herself numerous times no. He never came to get me refills so I noticed the machine by the restroom so I assumed it was public for all customers. So I went and he comes and says "Aye gimme your drink" I told him I'm fine I can get it myself no worries. And he said "No I'll get your drink. So give me your cup" came out rude but I didn't care. Then he told me to sit down. I ignored how he treated me right there but didn't want to ruin my meal. I later asked for a refill on my chips and salsa and he came back with only chips. I had to ask again only to receive it about 5 minutes later. Seemed like forever. Then after we finished I looked for him for my bill and he never showed up. A few minutes later I got his attention and he came about 10 to 15 minutes after and I immediately had my card out and he just left. So then I had to wait another 10 minutes for him to come for my card. I just see him at the bar making drinks and talking. I'm waiting for a good 20 minutes and my family are anxious to leave so I go over to the cash register and he just stares at me. I wait. He looks again and then walks away. He could have at least said something you know. Then I just walk pass him letting him know I'm ready and he goes by saying "You're not supposed to do that. You wait at the table for me. Okay?" I felt like this was not customer care. I then told him and he grabs the bill and leaves it at the register and then attends another customer. My god I waited forever for my check to come back. I really like this place. I've been coming here for a month an a half but I think this might change it. The guy with the mustache is so disrespectful and very rude. Nobody should constantly tell someone to buy alcohol. Nobody should wait that long for service. Nobody like that should work at a nice...
Read moreThree years ago this would have been 4 or 5 stars. A year ago 3 or 4, but my latest visit continued a trend that may keep me from returning altogether. I liked this place because it has reasonable prices for decent Mexican food. My problem here has been the service. Two or three of the servers have been there for years, but rather than feeling at home when I visit, I get the sense that they think I'll just wait forever because I'm a regular. Every time for the last 3 or 4 times it took longer to get waited or checked on. Finally a couple of weeks ago we walked in and the owner who happened to be sitting at a table at the time got up and told us to pick a table, but recommended the side away from the kitchen because the music was playing loudly in that side. We sat and waited about 5 minutes and nobody came. The owner stood back up and asked if we had been waited on, upon our reply he took our drink order and brought some water and chips and salsa. My wife asked for a Corona and after a couple of minutes he came back to tell us they did not have any cold Corona, only warm, to which we told him it was ok, we'd pass on the beer. He then said someone would be there to take the order in a minute. We waited another 3 minutes and decided it was not meant to be. We walked out and nobody tried to stop us. The owner was in the kitchen by this time. The place was not particularly crowded. Maybe 5 or 6 busy tables with 2 or 3 servers tending to them. One of the servers is a bartender as well and the 10-15 minutes we waited for a server to talk to us, he was at the bar making drinks. Given the trend of service I'm afraid the next time would be worse, and I'm not even sure how that would be even possible. We'll wait a few months before taking a...
Read moreOver all it was a pleasant experience for me and my spouse. We had stayed at a nearby hotel and we were looking for a "good" restaurant that serves breakfast early. Luckily we saw Poblanos Grill open at 7 a.m. Nevertheless, we were "not" disappointed. I ordered the migas and requested to make them "La Mexicana style and potatoes the same way." This means they add chopped tomatoes, onion & jalapeños together with the egg and strips of the toasted tortillas while cooking on the grill or pan. The salsa ranchera I added to my dish always elevates the experience to a 5 star review for this dish. My wife ordered the veggie omelette with the mixed fruit cup. The omelette she said was delicious and cooked perfectly. I ordered 3 barbacoa tacos with refried beans, cilantro and onion on corn tortillas to go and it was very good. I added an extra order of their green avocado habanero or poblano salsa mixed with queso fresco as well as the red chipotle chip salsa that is served warm to go since both are very good and not very spicy. I'm eager to try the tortilla soup, sea food soup and the jumbo shrimp cocktail in their signature poblano sauce that Nicole recommended. What makes this place so special is that it is still a family owned business that has followed the mainstream ideas on their menu that is inspired by some of the best traditional Mexican cuisine. Adding to their success was the successful efforts to renovate and modernize the interior of their restaurant that keep loyal happy customers coming back for a relaxed atmosphere, more good food and fun by introducing an occasional live band and...
