A Slice of Heaven (and Bruschetta!) at Postino Uptown Park!
Stepping into Postino Uptown Park feels less like entering a restaurant and more like being welcomed into your super cool friend's incredibly stylish living room – if that friend also happened to serve mind-blowing food and wine! My recent visit was an absolute masterclass in hospitality, and I’m still swooning.
From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right. But what truly elevated our experience from "great" to "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" was the dynamite duo of Joel and Eyob.
Joel, our server, was nothing short of spectacular. He didn't just take our order; he curated our evening. His recommendations were spot-on, his timing was impeccable, and his wit was sharper than a freshly honed charcuterie knife. He anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them, making us feel like VIPs without any of the pretense. Joel, you're a gem – keep shining!
And then there's Eyob, the manager on duty, who deserves a standing ovation for his unbelievable attention to detail and genuine hospitality. It's rare to see someone run a ship so smoothly while still making every single guest feel individually cherished. Eyob was everywhere, ensuring everything flowed perfectly, and his warm, engaging presence truly made us feel like honored guests. His dedication to ensuring everyone had an exceptional experience was palpable and, frankly, inspiring. It's clear he runs a tight, happy, and incredibly welcoming ship.
The food, of course, was spectacular – the Gluten Free bruschetta boards are practically works of art, and the wine selection is pervasive to say the least. But honestly, it was the stellar service from Joel and the incredible, detail-oriented care from Eyob that transformed a great meal into an unforgettable memory. We went for their Board and Bottle special, which features a bottle of wine and a bruschetta board for only $25. Like our server Joel proudly stated, it's the PERFECT DATE NIGHT. We even brought our 4-month-old baby, and the vibes were so relaxing and enjoyable that it was such an accommodating environment for some new parents looking to get out and enjoy some quality time together.
If you’re looking for fantastic food, a killer atmosphere, and service that makes you feel like royalty (without having to deal with any actual crowns or scepters), run, don't walk, to Postino Uptown Park. You won't regret it!
Special thanks to Joel and Eyob for the exceptional experience! WE WILL BE BACK NEXT WEEK! Anddddd probably...
Read moreDid we go on the wrong night? I've been to other Postino locations and enjoyed my experiences. This was less than stellar for sure! 2 stars given. One star for the decor and seating arrangements. The decor is upbeat and colorful and well done. The variations of seating arrangements is most impressive. I'm an interior designer, so these things can make a huge difference to me. One star thanks to our waiter, James. He saved the evening. Our first waitress had verbal diarrhea and lacked confidence in all areas of service and knowledge. It feels cruel to even describe all of the blunders on the servers part so I will leave it out. More training please!! She was sweet and nervous so we over looked it, but decided to move tables and relocated inside. Our next server, James, was just right. He didn't hover over us. Right amount of service and knew exactly what he was doing. Our food was honestly the most disappointing part of the evening. We didn't find the menu that impressive to begin with. Though we ordered light bites. The tuna tartar and the beef and chicken kabobs. Plating was sloppy. The tuna tartar looked unappetizing (sorry but it reminded me of minced dog food to look at). It lacked flavor period! Tuna tartar is a favorite dish of ours so this was a fail. The beef and chicken were extremely salty and difficult to eat for this reason. Dessert was even worse. Hands down the worst Creme Brule we've tried. Everything about it was wrong and we didn't even attempt to eat it. We were happy to pay for it, though James kindly removed it from our bill. Look, bottom line, we live very close and hope this was teething problems due to being newly opened. We would like to try this place again but it won't be too soon. We want places like this in our area...
Read moreI wish I could rate this two and a half stars because it's not a three and it's not a two. I have extensive experience at a wine bars and wineries in general, at a wine bar there are a few basic things that need to happen for it to be considered a wine bar and unfortunately those expectations were not met. Firstly, they did not bring a wine bucket for our cold wine selected. They did not tell us what the name of the wine was, the vintage or the origin. They poured the wine incorrectly causing bubbles. They didn't give the neck pour either.
If we look at service, we will notice that there was somebody coming to our table every 3 to 5 minutes asking us if we needed anything. We were having a serious discussion, and from my personal experience and customer service I believe that reading the room is very important and we were making it very obvious that we did not want to be bothered. We were not rude in any way shape or form, but part of the experience in any restaurant is being able to absorb it without being pestered.
We did notice that they have a lot of young people working and this could be contributing to the inefficiency and customer service and overall ambience. We will be coming back because we did genuinely enjoy the decor, we enjoyed the wine that we selected, and the food was absolutely perfect. The chefs charcuterie board is something we definitely recommend, not only was a presentation lovely but everything tasted very fresh and we were very happy with what we received as our snacks. But as mentioned, if they just learned to do the above better, I think that this could be called a...
