The Marriott Hotel Loop in Houston, conveniently located about 30 to 45 minutes from Houston Hobby Airport, is an excellent choice for business travelers. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi and plenty of seating in the lobby area, complete with charging outlets, catering well to business travelers.
The lobby exudes tranquility, with calming music and a pleasant eucalyptus scent. Its contemporary design is visually appealing. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the serene atmosphere, enhanced by soothing spa-like music and a refreshing eucalyptus scent. It's contemporary design is both elegant and visually appealing. I was warmly welcomed by the front desk agent Divya, whose vibrant personality set a positive tone for my stay.
While the wait for my room was a bit longer than anticipated, I appreciated the chocolate offered to ease the wait. You know chocolate makes everything better.
When I finally reached my room, I was a bit taken aback by the stark contrast between the modern lobby and the room's dated decor. The room featured a mix of textures and prints from the 80s. Despite this, the bedding was cozy, clean, and fresh. The room itself was comfortable and well-equipped with a minibar, a coffee/tea station, and a clean kettle.
The bathroom was spacious but could benefit from an updated shower curtain to align with the hotel's modern aesthetic. I was particularly impressed with the bathroom amenities from the This Works brand. The eucalyptus scent was incredibly relaxing, and the ginger combination was wonderful. I was so impressed that I began searching for their products online to order for myself.
My housekeeper was exceptional, going above and beyond, observing I am a make-up girlie, I returned after day one with extra makeup wipes and moisturizer, demonstrating attentiveness to guests' needs.
The housekeeping staff was exceptional. Noticing my interest in makeup, I returned to find extra makeup wipes and moisturizer--such thoughtful attention to detail.
In-room internet TV is available to connect through Netflix, YouTube and Amazon so you can keep up with your shows.
On-site, there's a Starbucks coffee bar and the 17Fifty restaurant, which offers American cuisine, a full bar, and prices comparable to other mid-range restaurants. The lobby also features a market with snacks, juice, water, and a communal microwave, plus healthy grab-and-go options like salads and wraps.
An ATM is conveniently located in the lobby, and the gym is spacious and well-equipped, with a good mix of treadmills, weights, and other fitness equipment.
Valet parking is available. There is a pool onsite; however, at the time of my visit (June) it was closed.
Nearby, Willy G's Seafood restaurant is a must-visit for great dining. While the hotel offers a comfortable stay with notable strengths in service and amenities, some areas, particularly room decor and bathroom updates, could benefit from modernization. The hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, and focus on guest well-being make it a solid choice for...

This hotel has clearly been around for decades and feels like it’s been relying on its “corporate preferred” status to stay full. I traveled here on business, checked in on Sunday, and ended up checking out early on Thursday instead of Friday.
The property itself is very old. You’ll notice rust on the hinges, worn floors, and an overall dated style. The lobby looks nice and modern — it’ll fool you at first — but once you get to your room, the age really shows. You can feel how many people have stayed in your room before.
During my stay, the body wash bottle was completely empty, and I was the only guest in the room — a clear sign that housekeeping doesn’t always check the essentials daily. Luckily, I had my own. The bathroom design is odd: it has an office-style drop ceiling and no vent or fan, which is pretty concerning. The ceiling is also very low — I actually scraped my hand just reaching up, and I’m not even six feet tall.
There’s a fridge, safe, and coffee maker in the room, and they do provide bottled water daily. However, don’t expect much beyond that — no free breakfast, no happy hour, and the restaurant menu doesn’t change between lunch and dinner. Be ready to spend your full per diem if you eat there: meals aren’t cheap, and even a single drink in this Galleria area runs about $20–$25 after tax and tip.
To be fair, the bar staff are friendly, and the food is decent, but that’s about the only highlight. The beds and pillows were okay — clean but not especially comfortable.
Parking is another pain point. Self-parking is $32 per day, and valet is $44. Several times I was left waiting for long stretches for the valet to return with either my vehicle or just the key. For the price, I expected much smoother service.
The low point was finding a brown liquid spattered in the corner of my bathroom wall. It was disgusting, and I couldn’t come up with any explanation that made it less gross.
The location is “good” in theory — close to the Galleria and business offices — but nothing is within walking distance. You’ll need a car or rideshare for everything, including meals, since the only on-site option is the 70-50 Restaurant in the lobby.
Overall, this property feels tired, neglected, and overpriced for what it offers. It probably makes plenty of money for Marriott just because of its address, but it’s time for a serious renovation. I doubt management will respond to this, but my advice is simple: choose another chain or a newer property in the area — you’ll enjoy your stay in...
Read moreThis was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had excluding one of the security and valet at the time and convienent location. The front desk and management both witnessed upon check in the our situation. I brought several guest to stay there for my 30th birthday celebration and upon checking in the receptionist at the front desk was extremely unwelcoming , rude , and pushy to myself and all of our guest . We had a situation that was WITNESSED by the manager and the receptionist that could have been easily prevented with proper registration and explanation of the process needed to secure the aspect of me and another random guest that joined my party to swap rooms. The random guest decided to keep their room and was trying to STEAL our property, we had to get police involved. It wasn't until 7 30 am where we could come to a resolution, they put us in a new room to rest that was not properly clean. Looked like it was just being done getting used and then they call us and say we have to check out after 30 minutes of rest . My card was charged more then the amount agreed to , this came as a surprise because again the front desk lady failed to explain this upfront . Apparently the extra charge will return , but oh well. I called back to see about a refund because the entire experience and issue could have been handled and wasn't properly to begin with. I ask for a refund because we weren't able to stay at the hotel or in our room . The manager was VERY rude , short , and had ZERO compassion for the situation. He said I do not have a refund this was on you and didn't take accountability for the fact that this could have been prevented or handled differently. My 30th birthday was ruined at the end of the evening because of this , I brought you so much business by having 6 guests stay there and there was NOTHING he would do. . Didn't even give me another comped evening, partial refund , at the very least not even any compassion or respect when speaking to me . He said if I brought it up during the stay about the attitude and dirty room that they could have done something about it with again zero compassion . . They saw what happened how exhausted and distressed I was . Obviously you don't belong in the hospitality industry and expect that my friends will also be leaving a poor review due to their experience as well , dealing with poor customer service. I will be taking this up with corporate and they will provide me the video footage of the checking in process that you said you witnessed and decided to do...
