This used to be my husband and my go to pizza place. We ate here every Friday, to the point where they knew his name. Despite many of our friends' telling us how they disliked this place, due to pizza being cold, and although our pizza was sometimes lukewarm, we stayed true to them. However, several weeks ago, we had the worst experience we have had at any restaurant. I never write a review, but this experience prompted me to write one.
We ordered the same pizza we always order - Everything But The Meat, without the pineapple, extra cheese. My husband called it in, and I picked it up on my way home. When I arrived, we were given what looked like a display pizza with pineapple on it. I nicely asked "Are you sure that's ours? We usually get it without pineapple." The worker, I believe his name was Octavio, stated "Yes! I asked your husband twice, he said he wanted pineapple." I stated "Oh, I'm not sure why, as we always say without." And he said "Well, he asked for us to sub the extra cheese for the pineapple, which we don't do, so maybe he just didn't want to waste money." This is when I was really upset, as his tone was accusatory and aggressive - it is not about money, as we order the same thing every time. I said "Well, it will be a waste either way, as we will throw the pineapple out, due to my mild allergy." And he just said "I don't know, talk to your husband - he seems sure of this." Of course, my husband insisted that he said no pineapples, and I believe him, as this is a standard order for us. When I arrived home (5 mins away from Roma's), he called them to clarify. As we were frequent customers, we even offered to come pick up a fresh pizza, didn't demand a refund, anything - but we were confronted again with the same abrasive comments from Octavio. At this point, we decided we are never returning. Since then, we have started going to Zalat pizza, which we much prefer. Their customer service is far superior, and their pizzas are amazing. If you are looking for a just okay, subpar pizza, come to Roma's, otherwise - avoid it...
Read moreLet's be clear, I only utilize these platforms whenever. I have made an attempt to bring the issues to manage this attention and they either deny my claims or make it conscious decision to not make the situation right.
I ordered one slice of sausage and pepperoni pizza with one side salad. I received a slice of some of the thinnest rubbery pizza I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. So I tried to break it up with one of the coldest salads I have ever had in my life. They are lucky I was hungry but about halfway through the salad I noticed my lettuce was completely see-through. Which tells me this lettuce is freezer burned or this lettuce could be old and maybe was sitting in the refrigerator too long. Regardless, see-through lettuce is unacceptable and would never be accepted at any other restaurant, not even Subway. When I brought this to the manager attention, he refused to get me a fresh salad remade and he wanted to argue with me about whether or not the lettuce was in proper condition. He claimed the lettuce was fresh but I have never seen wilted see-through fresh lettuce. Because he wanted to continue to go back and forth with me, I decided to show him because I wasn't completely sure he was fully understanding the words that were coming out of my mouth. So I googled "what does it mean when lettuce is translucent?" You can Google it yourself and see the results. But long story short the lettuce was damaged and that does not correlate with the word fresh in any form or fashion. The manager or owner also had the nerve to quote holding temps to me as if that explains why the lettuce was...
Read moreI’ve had pizza from here before and it was great but not sure I will ever go back. Yesterday, after voting, a few friends and I went to have lunch at Roma’s but I was asked to leave for having a service dog. I tried explaining the law to the man, using this as an educational experience but he wouldn’t listen to me. No matter how many time I tried to explain, he wouldn’t listen and kept becoming more and more argumentative. This restaurant is apparently not ADA friendly. I spoke with the owner today and he was very defensive and was also extremely difficult to get him to listen to me. He said if I came back, it wouldn’t be a problem, he would discuss it with his employees but he also kept telling me to bring documentation. I told him I would bring in an ADA service dog card with the law on it. Not sure if I want to go through that again though. We ended up going to Frank’s instead and they were absolutely great and so was the food. I do know people fake service dogs frequently and it ruins it for people like me who actually rely on their trained service dog daily. That being said, this restaurant could have handled the situation better and used it as an opportunity to train the employees to...
