Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Houston

First off, I love Schlotzsky's in general and I feel that this location on Memorial Dr. is exceptional at making sandwiches and making you feel welcomed being there. During my visit 11/22/2023 - The girl that took my food order was super friendly! She even helped me pick something from the kids menu, which I am not accustomed to doing. Anyway, I ordered a Turkey Bacon w/ Ranch (my usual) except this time I added Pastrami on it as well as turkey. We all sat and waited for our lunch in a very clean and quiet dining room. To be fair, it was a late lunch so it's normal for it to be quiet. The food came out in a timely manner and the kids cheese pizza was pretty good! But the show stopper was the sandwich... This may have been the best sandwich I've ever gotten at Schlotzsky's!! Every bite as good as the first, flavorful, delicious, and I didn't want it to end. I love sandwiches and I especially love Schlotzsky's. Their sourdough bread is the right mix of fluff with a slight crunch on the edges. The Original and the Turkey Bacon Club are my favorites. The layered meats plus toppings are the perfect combination. Staff is always friendly and sandwiches are always fresh. They have an app and points system to earns rewards with every purchase. My only small issue is the chips. I loved the Cracked Pepper chips they used to serve. A couple weeks ago I was told they were out of that flavor. Last night they said they had them back in stock. The new bag was a different brand, much thicker and way more peppery than their original chips. The owner of this location takes exceptional pride in raising the quality and customer service bar. I now live out of town, but I grew up in Houston loving Schlotzky’s Original. I was visiting for a week recently and upon landing went to another location for my initial Schlot fix - but was disappointed with the quality of the sandwich. Before heading back to the airport to leave town, I stopped by the Memorial location. After enjoying a perfectly built and toasted Original, I thanked the owner, and he emphasized his attention to detail (quality, cleanliness, and customer service) as a reason I should post a review of my experience.
