Wow this complex is coming up in the world with it's newly instated common bond location. But the star of the show is definitely still Southwell's. Conveniently located near the med center, this burger joint has got it all: burgers, chicken, sandwiches, shakes.

They've got a choice of waffle and regular fries for the same price (I was surprised people seem to usually charge extra for waffle fries). I wasn't too impressed with these; they were very very crispy and I prefer fries that have a bit of softness in the middle with a crunchy exterior. They had a couple cajun spices peppered on the fries, I think. Probably the only order of fries I haven't finished in a loooong time - just too charred.

Cheeseburger - comes with pickles, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. Quite a few toppings for a pretty affordable burger. The burger was juicy - similar in consistency to those they have at shake shack and pretty large at 1/3lb.

The interior was set up with a diner vibe; very, very clean and cozy. Once you enter you pass through some tables to order at the back. The staff are real friendly. The receipts don't automatically ask you for tip if you're ordering take out, so you'll have to make a separate tip.

An older hispanic man seemed to bring out all the orders; he was very friendly and attentive holding doors open and going to fetch any additional requests. There seemed to be quite a few locals who frequent this joint that knew him well. I'd guess that the stellar staff have something to do with this location being rated so much higher than the other one. All in all a very pleasant and...

Do you remember the old times when hamburgers came out and the cheese was melted all over the bacon and the hamburger patty and the lettuce and tomato were really fresh and the right color and the buns were all steamy and warm and the same size as the burger? Well if that is what you would like to taste again, this is the place you need to go! While visiting Houston, my husband and I pulled into a parking lot to look up restaurants in the area. After looking at all sorts of familiar names, we looked up and saw Southwell's Hamburger sign in the strip mall parking lot we were parked in. We decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! We also had waffle fries and onion rings and both were delicious. The burgers are big and neither of us could finish ours. The atmosphere is cute and quaint and has the greatest framed pictures on the walls of Southwell family members in probably the 1960's. They bring back lots of memories of what families were like back then. The pictures of the house and everyone working in the kitchen were like being at my grandmothers house again. The service was great as well, we were greeted by the cashier with a big smile who was eager to take our order and made us feel welcome! I immediately looked to see if they had a location in Dallas, but unfortunately they are just in Houston. When we come back to Houston, we will definitely make sure we include Southwell's...

I came during the lunch rush, at first I was a bit hesitant because of the line. However, I gave it a chance, and fast forward this was just enough time for a good 1 hr lunch well spent. Took me about 7 minutes to get to the front of the line. I ordered my food and about 20 minutes later I got it. The burger was great, the fries were ok. However, I would like to point out the person I was with, her order got messed up, she added bacon to the jalepeno burger she ordered. However, when it arrived, no bacon. You gots to have bacon if you requested it. Anyways, I took it up to the employee assisting in the dining area and asked to add the bacon and he came out a couple minutes later and there was bacon. However, considering this was a jalepeno burger this burger ended up coming out with no jalapeños for some reason. So we didn’t really wanna be that picky because we had such a hardworking, patient, and kind employee helping us from the beginning. Luis Lopez was his name and I thank him for giving such great customer service even though making the food was out of his hands. So we didn’t wanna cause too much trouble and just asked for jalepenos on the side and he without hesitation helped out. He was pretty much all throughout the dining area assisting customers with patience and kindness , he is what made me ultimately give this place 4 stars and the food...

I was really tired otherwise I won’t be stepping in in this place. I visited one of their chain on some Felippe . I mean, I was satisfied they honored the deal they had and a coupon. Basically buy one and get the other one free buy the meal And get the burger along for free so this place on Holcombe is very horrible the staff they don’t even understand no English no Spanish they just standing there at the entrance watching the audience and talking and gossiping so I keep asking for the day they say oh no, we don’t have no days and you get no nice answers or treatment so I had to order everything single the burger bites itself does ugly french fries they be refried saggy with grease I would never step again on this place everything was cold Horrible experience and I don’t know if they really I shouldn’t be eating there because those people just with this nasty look nasty no gloves wearing and working we just get over the pandemic they should have taken that under consideration, but the health department is not going there no more I have no idea

My son swore up and down he'd taken me here before, I would have 'membered a place this good. We fell off our keto diet today and it was worth it. We did split a double meat burger with blue cheese and an egg, yum! It was downhill after that. We enjoyed their amazing waffle fries and onion rings.....we left quite a few of each which made us feel virtuous and that was really hard to do. A couple iced teas hit the spot. This is an old school burger place and i'm guessing most people know about them 'cause there's four locations. We'll be back.
