After stopping at the hospital, we decided to grab a Starbucks drink. For the last 6 years I always order the same drink. I could describe it perfectly in my sleep. It's a nice tan creamy color. Espresso, syrup and milk. Easy breezy. So I order and go to the restroom. The restroom was awful. Smelled of urine and the toilet seat covers were gone, toilet paper all over the floor and what I assume is urine on the floor. When I go out my drink is ready. Well, it was way too white so I tasted it and didn't taste any coffee. Not sure what happened but I politely asked for coffee to be added or a new drink to be made. After the new drink is made the barista asked me what I thought was wrong with the drink because... "they are like literally the same color." So another barista walks up to pour out the previous one and I stopped her, placed my new drink next to it and said.. "See? (while being polite) This is all I ever order from here so I can tell when it's done differently."... The color blind barista says.." yeah I bet.. " and walks away. So, while my second coffee was awesome and the other barista was very polite.. The blue haired color blind barista needs a lesson in customer service. I don't typically appreciate the prices of drinks at SB, but when I choose to spend over $5 for a cup of coffee, I'd like decent customer service and for my satisfaction to not be argued with. That was just silly. Side note.. Police officer walked in while I was waiting on the second drink and he went to walk into the restroom and he turned around and came right back out. If even a man doesn't want to use the restroom,...
Read moreI’ve always been impressed with Starbucks because they are quick, friendly, and efficient. I just visited the Starbucks in Houston on Dryden and wow - the opposite of every previous experience I’ve had. My venti latte was filled half way so what’s the point of a venti? I stood trying to get someone’s attention to ask them to fill it but they were all avoiding eye contact. Then I had to ask for a few sugar packets because they keep them behind the counter Instead of putting them out for customers. That also took a while. I finished my coffee and food and went back up to request a venti hot water to take back to my hotel - the employee still didn’t make eye contact and was extremely uncomfortable responding with, “it is now Starbucks policy not to give anyone hot water.” Excuse me? I asked if I could pay for the cup, and she said she would “get in trouble for giving me hot water.” I just got a hot water from another Starbucks so I know this is not Starbucks policy unless they instituted...
Read moreThis place would garner a 4-star review, but Dennis the Security Guard single handedly brings it home with the 5th star. Dennis goes above and beyond in his duties as Security Guard at this location. He opens doors, he’s friendly, he greets people with a smile, he offers encouragement, and he gets to know the frequent visitors (which are often people who are caring for family members in the medical center long term). The coffee and food are par for the course as all Starbucks are generally the same. However, Dennis makes a BIG difference at this location and I hope management takes notice! Dennis boosts guest interactions more than a free triple shot of espresso. If Dennis ever moves on to bigger and better things, he will be dearly missed. He’s making people lives better, one friendly...
