If I could give this review a zero I would . Im start off by saying me and my homie walk in here around 1:25 with good attitude and hell I was even high ( off a muha med still am ) we had been to this location once and really liked it . The problem start when the our waiter about 20 mins in our “all you can eat “ start taking a longer to bring back food and coming back to refill our drink (his name is Zach ) . I know because I work fast food that waiters sometimes have other responsibilities but if there is people still people in the restaurant at least try to come to check every 10min or especially when you can’t get up and serve yourself. Now this normally wouldn’t be a problem but it is in this case because you only have 2 hours to for the all you can eat and the used to close lunch at 3 but now they close 2:30.We only order 3 item each just because it would take to so long to be able to order and the food to return . At one point around a hour and 30 mins in the homie and me just decided to leave since they were obviously too busy closing I don’t understand why the would let people in if they aren’t going to treat them differently and give zero to no service ( left no tip too ). They also have different menu for lunch and dinner so be careful for example they only server takoyaki at dinner which was also one of the main attractions for this location for me so I was bummed out. I also wanted to more in depth about the no tip part I always leave tip but I was already paying 50 dollars for 2 people when we only at 2 appetizers and 2 sushi rolls at most we were even half full towards the because like said the would take 20/25 to bring food and another 15-20 to take another other with these type of restaurant buffet hybrids customers service need to be a decent level since you can’t get up for food . This experience really made us question if going here for my friend’s birthday was the right choice. I will also like to mention the first time I went here the food was great and the customers service was amazing and the older asian man that assigned to our table was great ( we went around dinner time in one of boths toward the right lower side of the restaurant ) . We honestly could have said something about it while we were in the restaurant but I know how working at restaurants and maybe wanting to go home early and not give full attention last customers might be reason even so the only reason Im writing this is to share MY EXPERIENCE and how I view the situation in hope that if arrive at the time I did this doesn’t happen to you but that if does you know thats there is...

Update 8/18/2024: My wife and I came to dinner tonight and had their AYCE. First, I have to say Frank made the whole experience wonderful! If you ever go, ask to be seated in Frank's section if he is working. Extremely attentive and authentically wants to ensure you have a great time. Now onto the food.

We didn't eat but one roll, the Astro Roll. Definitely a favorite going forward. I had the sashimi; eel, striped bass, mackerel, yellowtail, salmon, and surf clam. All of it was fresh and delicious! We also tried; chicken and steak hibachi. They were grilled to perfection and with the right touch of butter. So good! Frank surprised us by suggesting we try the Beef Short ribs from the Robata grill. A tad sweet for my taste but the wife loved it. We had three servings. Paired well with the sake we had and was why Frank suggested it. We also had; yellowtail jalapeno, beef tataki, grilled mussels ( a huge fav). I have to say, my wife (Japanese) and I (Vietnamese) after enjoying California's scene of sushi, Sushi Haya definitely has done it right and better. The quality is there. The value is there. We are going to be regulars for sure! It's just only a few miles from our house. Man, I am gonna blow up this year!!!! 😂

(First time visit review) First time trying Sushi Haya. Wife and I just moved to Tomball from San Jose, CA. My wife and I had a craving for sushi and wanted to see what the local eateries had to offer. We noticed this location from the many times we had to stop by Home Depot for supplies for the house. Will update this review once we've taken the opportunity to have a sit down experience and also try out the AYC. So far, we're impressed by the rolls we tried but the real assessment comes when I get to try their sashimi and nigiris.

What we ordered for take-out and did their buy 2 get 1 free deal.

[Cooked] Mango Shrimp Roll +$16.00 This was interesting. It was beautifully presented but the mango took the show away from the shrimp. Wouldn't say it complimented it well. Mango was very tasty and fresh. 7.5/10

[Cooked] Sky Diver Roll +$14.00 I wished the tempura was a bit crispier but overall, a really well made roll. 8/10

[Raw] New Surf & Turf Roll +$0.00 (free) I am a red meat kinda guy and this hit the spot for me. 9/10

Overall, each roll was presented well even for take-out. Looking forward to...

Sadly, this was a disappointing dining experience despite the reviews that I’ve seen here. As an All You Can Eat (AYCE) restaurant this just Durant hold the same quality as compared to other sushi places in the area. You can either order from a traditional menu or the AYCE menu (lunch: $20 & dinner $30).

Within about a 10 to 15 minute drive from this location you can eat at Sumo Sushi or Kiki Sushi (both have AYCE options) and the quality is much better.

The fried foods over the lunch hour were pre-fried so they didn’t come out hot. It was warm, chewy and greasy. The oil was either not hot enough when cooked or old. fresh enough as the tempura fried calamari Gyoza all tasted too greasy. The shrimp hibachi and veggie hibachi were too salty.

The sushi rolls were smaller than average around the area. The sashimi was not fresh. The tuna color was a dull red and not a vibrant color of fresh runs. The slices of sashimi were inconsistent; some were thin or thicker and were not at all uniform. The wasabi did taste freshly ground.

I even paid for the dinner menu over the lunch hour, and despite having a large variety of choices, I was still very disappointed in the overall outcome.

I wouldn’t recommend going to this restaurant as I would suggest going to the other sushi places that I mentioned above.

I will not be going back.

Service was sufficient.

Dinning area is average. There is outside seating available...

A few sips into my drink, while waiting for appetizer, I saw pieces of food on the inside of my glass, so I had to ask for a clean glass. My husband was served 15 minutes before me. We finished our food and since no one ever came back around, my husband waited at the bar for 5 minutes to ask for refills which then came another 5 minutes later. The chicken tempura was not good. I ordered the Sushi Haya roll and the Sweet Heart roll, and they were average, nothing special. Portion size was okay. I was a bit annoyed that I asked for Spicy crunch to be added to both and only one had regular crunch added. We did not enjoy the spicy edamame which is unfortunate because that is our favorite appetizer at other places. One of the most annoying things was that they were blaring a Happy Birthday song that looped 4 times before they shut it off. Everyone was looking around annoyed because it was uncomfortably loud. I don't know if it was just one of those nights, but it was almost comical how awful the experience was. I normally do not review places until I have been at least twice, but service was not good, dishes were not clean, it was uncomfortably loud and the food was not worth giving it another chance. It is not giving me the option to share the video that I took of how loud the song was playing.

Located just north of the Vintage area, Sushi Haya offers a casual sushi dining experience that's consistent with what one might expect from family-style sushi establishments. From the traditional rolls to the more contemporary ones, their menu covers all the standard sushi favorites, ensuring there's something to cater to a variety of palates. A notable feature of this location is the presence of a service robot. Although it wasn't operational during our visits, it's an intriguing addition that speaks to the restaurant's forward-thinking approach. As for the human touch, the service was average, meeting the standard expectations without being particularly standout. With a price range of $5-$20 and an enticing all-you-can-eat option, Sushi Haya offers a good balance of value and quality. It's a fitting choice for casual get-togethers with friends or family. Additionally, for those who work nearby and are looking for a refreshing change from their regular lunch spots, Sushi Haya offers a flavorful detour. Overall, Sushi Haya provides a typical sushi dining experience with the potential of a tech twist, making it worth a visit for both the sushi aficionado and the curious diner.
