Lonestar UP is beyond horrid. Do they even bother hiring advisors that ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT? I have gotten so much wrong information by advisors its ridiculous, not to add that they are beyond rude. I spoke with an advisor today because previous to that an advisor gave me the wrong information which led me to get the wrong class, the new advisor i saw today told me that it is all my fault & i should assume responsibility. I have factual evidence that the advisor gave me the wrong information & he continued to blame it on me. I am a great student with great academic standing, I have no complaints about professors because they do their job (most) as long as you follow along by reading the chapters. My biggest complain is the advisors, they are rude, useless, uninformed, & don't even help us out when we want to know more about the college we want to transfer to (even after i did my own research). Their job is to help us but they don't even do that, there is only one advisor that i recommend talking to & that is Mrs. Laura V. beyond helpful, super sweet & she seems to be the youngest there too. Every other advisor should look up to her. & another thing is, Lonestar is now charging you $20 to pay for your classes online, if you try paying for it in person they wont accept the payment, you have to do it online simply because there is a fee of $20 due to paying online. I tried paying for my classes in cash & the lady at the business office told me I couldn't pay in cash & when I told her that I took out the money to pay for it in cash she told me that I should borrow someone else's credit card to pay for it then because they won't accept cash...
Read moreI’ve never had a problem with this campus until today. I understand there’s campus hours which I respect, but why would the police officer tell not only me but other students as well that the campus is closed at 3:15 pm on a Saturday? On the website and even in front of the information desk in the campus there’s a sign where it shows the hours of operation this campus holds all 7 days of the week. It says the campus hours for Saturdays are from 9 am to 6 pm, NOT 3:15 PM. Some students would like to study til the actual closing hours of operation that this campus holds, not whenever it is the best convinience for the officer. For those who are wondering what the hours of operation of this campus is I WILL GLADLY POST THEM FOR YOU. Monday-Friday: 7 am - 10:30 pm Saturday: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Sunday: Noon - 7:00 pm Hopefully this will be my last and only time to have this kind of encounter with an officer disrupting my study time for having him close down the campus before...
Read moreBeen here for a while now and this place gets more disappointing every semester. The advisors don’t care about you and want you to leave them alone because they can’t gossip or be on facebook with you around. The “Transfer Advisor” is incapable of answering any of your questions be it in person or by email. Heck you send her an email with specific questions on what you need help with and you get- “Heres a link. Thank you.” And that link doesnt answer any questions at all. The teachers are 50/50, either you get a great professor or you’re stuck with someone who does not care whether you succeed or not. The cafeteria management is awful. If nobody is at the register, you have to wait 10 minutes for someone to notice you- even if you blatantly tried to get their attention. The “fests” they hold are severly lacking. All in all: save your time, patience, money, gas, and brain cells from this place and choose...
