So I saw this place on Facebook and really wanted to give it a try. My friends and I stopped in around 7 pm on a Friday and originally it was empty but it quickly became packed. When we left, there was a line of people waiting outside, so I would recommend coming early.
I had never tried this cuisine before, so I was really excited. For the appetizer, we ordered the deep fried calamari and the super french fries. Of the two, the French fries were my favorite. They were different and unique. Although I felt the calamari was a little too chewy for my liking, I did enjoy it with the sauce. I would definitely be interested in trying the other appetizers on the menu.
For my drink, I ordered the purple yam sea salt latte with 50% sugar & boba. My friend ordered the matcha sea salt latte with 100% sugar and boba. Both drink were really tasty. In addition to the drink, I ordered the Tom Yum with shrimp hot pot that came with braised pork rice.I also ordered a side of ramen noodles to go with it. I definitely did not know what to expect when I ordered this lol but boy was I in for a surprise. This hot pot was jam packed with a lot of stuff that I had never seen before. I really enjoyed the shrimp, mussels, and clams. There were a lot of things in it that I was unfamiliar with. Like I said, this was my first time ordering, so I just went all in lol. In the future, I would just order a simple hot pot with just one meat and veggies maybe. This was not my favorite dish to eat but if this is something that you enjoy, I’m sure you would like it. It was definitely a lot of food for the amount of money. I would come back and try...

The wall paint is a nice animated touch of what they provide here. I like how they have pictures of each entree on the menu, so that you have a insight of what you would like to order. The unique dishes has a lit flame underneath to keep the hot pot warm as you eat. You can also let your waiter know to turn it off so it doesn’t keep scorching your mouth throughout your meal (wish I knew this before haha) Appetizers: we ordered the Fried Calamari, Pork Belly Skewers, French Fries with the ketchup and white sauce, & Mushrooms. They were delicious! My boyfriend, cousin, and cousin in law ordered the Big Size Taiwanese Hot Pot (Most Popular), which had beef and seafood and all types of meat inside! I order the Tom Yum Hot Pot (thai style) with my side of vermicelli. It was a mild spicy with two/three shrimps in it, cabbage, corn, along with other seafood! With your hot pot choosing, you can select a small side of either white rice, pork sauce rice, and vermicelli. If you can’t use chopsticks, kindly ask for forks. I also ordered the Mango Tea that had a sea salt foam that had a unique taste of sweet and salty. My cousin first ordered the Lemon Currant, which she wasn’t too fond of. We had to switch that one out for her and instead, she loved the Guava Tea, but wasn’t interested in the Sea Salt Foam (to each its own, right? Ha)
I will be coming back for other...
Read moreFirst time here, I’m Taiwanese, so I’ve been looking for Taiwanese style hot pot. This is for sure the place to go. However, if you are looking for the kind of hot pot where everything’s raw and you cook it yourself at the table, this is not that. All the ingredients come already in the individual pot cooked. The pot is really just there to keep it boiling hot. I ordered the Stinky Tofu Hot Pot, it was pretty good. Personally, I find it not stinky enough, but it’s understandable that they’d want to tone that down to not make the entire restaurant smell like that. The deep fried chicken cutlet is very crispy and juicy. The fact that they used dark meat is a bonus for me. (White meat is usually used, but could be dry and harder to chew) The braised pork rice was probably the only disappointment. It’s a very basic Taiwanese dish, the texture was a bit wrong. I think they used too much ground pork instead of pork belly? I’m not entirely sure. Overall, I still liked the food. I would go back if I have Taiwanese hot pot cravings again. A side note, I think they use quite a lot of MSG. It made my mouth very dry the entire night. (Something that happens to me when I eat too much MSG) I don’t think that’s a big issue though, just drink more water. But I know some people are very “allergic” to MSG, they might want to stay away or maybe ask if they...
