Applebee's in Howell have 2 amazing employees. Gloria and Norese. They both work in the bar area and are an asset to this restaurant.
Edit: My husband and my family went to Applebee's to have dinner tonight and we were sitting at a booth in the bar area. We ordered dinner and drinks. I had two glasses of wine and then ordered a third. I was not driving. My server Aiden went over to one of the Managers and she came over to our table. She informed me that she was told that I ordered a third glass of wine, and apparently the policy now in Applebee's is that if you order more than two alcoholic beverages the server needs to let the Managers know. We frequent Applebee's every month at least twice and have never been told of this policy. The way the Manager spoke to me was humiliating and really didn't need to be said. They can assess the situation without embarrassing the person they are speaking too. The patrons that frequent the bar only, do not get assessed for the number of drinks they consume. I have been in the bar area and have seen patrons have numerous drinks with no one speaking to them in a condescending and embarrassing manner. Unfortunately, we will not be frequenting Applebee's in Howell or any area ever again. . I am not sure if this is a new policy for this chain, but someone needs to train the Managers and staff how to treat and talk to the people that frequent...
Read moreFood was as usual acceptable to good. Nothing to write home about but also nothing to complain about. I always enjoy the boneless wings and I also had pretzels.
The service on the other hand was probably the worst I had here. First it was my daughters 7th birthday and she wanted to bad to go to Applebees. No big deal, they have apps and drinks that I can enjoy. But $10 drinks too forever to get. My kids waters were forgotten. Server ordered the wrong meal (but similar meal). We had told the server that it was my daughters birthday as well and he also forgot dropped the check and then overheard us complaining about the birthday. So he did bring ice cream, but we weren’t asking for free ice cream, we were asking for a little song and attention to make a 7 year old girl feel special for her birthday.
My alcoholic beverage arrived after about 10 minutes after we ordered and right as I finished my meal.
I can’t remember ever having so many things go wrong, all related to the service, and not the kitchen. On top of that, I used to serve and bartend, and the server showed absolutely no sympathy for any of the many mistakes, it breaks my heart that my daughter wanted to go someplace like Applebees, she didn’t have super high expectations but she just wanted to feel like the center of attention and get to have someone sing happy...
Read moreBad service. I called around 9pm and I asked what time does half apps start, the employee tell me 10 and I also ask can I order half off apps to go and he responds yes. I get to Applebees around 10:15 I’m greeted and I told the employee I’m ordering to go, I ask again can I order the apps to go with the half off promo and he says yes again and tell me to stand by the register and wait for someone to come to do my order. A guy comes over from the bar and tells me to sit at the bar to take my order. So I start to order and I said the apps are half off to go and he said no I said well I asked and the guy told me it was and he asked who and I pointed him out, he then tells me he’s new he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. So he gives me a hard time so I said I will just sit down order my food and box it up. I ordered my food and I’m pretty sure it was a manger it was a taller guy that came out that told me he could do it this time but next time I cant do this because boxes cost too much. I worked in retail before and this was not the right way to handle this situation since it was your employee that gave out the miss information. Besides if I didn’t eat all my food and I need a Togo box are you gonna tell me the boxes cost too much much. I was not going to argue I knew writing a review...
