Five Guys — Restaurant in Huber Heights

Stopped in about 4:30pm. Ordered a bacon cheese burger, extra cheese, grilled onions and small fries. Got the bag when order was ready and it felt pretty light weight. My first time here so didn't immediately realize that two buns with the tops cut off was not the norm. At first I thought the were two pancakes! Opened the bun to see a lot extra cheese. So much so that I didn't see the burger patties and a few onions. Took a bite and thought, "dang, didn't get the burger. I was disappointed that this less than beefy burger cost me $11.50 Ate some fries for a while, took another bite. Something is wrong. opened it up again. There was NO beef! Haha. I guess there was some confusion when asking for extra cheese???? They re-made it and the burger was HUGE. First 5 or so bites were amazing. Just like any food those first few bites were so yummy. I have no need to eat the rest of the day due to approx. 1600 calories. Loved the beefy taste of the beef. Oh, and really love the peanuts...

This location was across the street from our hotel, so we chose to eat here as my wife had never experienced a Five Guys burger. Now she wants to go to the location near us back home and try a patty melt! The staff was friendly and efficient. We dined in, and the seating area was clean. Cheyenne took our order, and when I told her it was my wife's first time, she took her time and helped her decide what to eat, and made sure she got the burger just the way she wanted. Do NOT miss the peanut butter milkshakes. Incredible! When I told Cheyenne I needed mine bunless, she knew exactly what I meant and offered either a bowl or a wrap. I got the wrap, but next time I think I'll get a bowl. The wrap is actually two pieces of lettuce, and so it's difficult (and messy) to pick up and eat as the lettuce does not surround the sandwich. I’ve never been disappointed with the food here! Their burgers and fries are always perfect and I’ve ordered from here several times.

The staff was also super friendly and lively when I’ve been in store.

The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because they seem to not use their pickup window at all, which seems so odd to me. If I order food online, I typically favor restaurants that allow me to stay in my car for that.

This last time, I ordered pickup online and decided to try the window for several minutes and nobody ever came up so I just went inside. And then they apparently don’t drop your fries in the fryer until you’ve checked in so, to me, it makes more sense to utilize the pickup window instead of having lots of people standing around waiting for food.
