The Egg Cafe — Restaurant in Huntersville

If it was up to me I would give a 0 star, reason being my husband, brother and I went there for the first time and they had no courtesy what so ever. The girl that greeted us stated that there would be a wait, we stated is fine no problem. We saw a couple that was leaving and told her that we would take that table. As we waited for them to clean the table outside, behind us came a family of 3 which at this point there was an open table already inside and they seated them asap and even brought them their drinks. Meanwhile we were waiting for her to at least have the courtesy to clean the table for us to seat since we were waiting. Another person came through the door and they immediately helped her, while we still waiting on them to clean the table. I got closed to the girl and said excuse me the table outside is empty can we please have it clean. The girl answered; I know but I’m busy?! I believe that before taking care of the people that came behind us they should of attended us first.. and even if they seated them first they could of came back to us, clean the table and have us seated. Not just go on with seating the other people, serving them and also taking care of someone else while you have people that came first and have them wait until you feel like doing it..I understand you’re busy, but you weren’t that busy to help the...

I just left The Egg at Birkdale.. I love The Egg in Davidson. But this is not the case. I had the rudest encounter with one of your servers. I do not know her name. But she was an older woman in her 50’s. I came in for a peaceful breakfast like I have done multiple times. However, this breakfast was far from peaceful. This awful woman was rude to myself, rude to the other waitresses, and other customers. As I sat at the bar I constantly heard her taunt the other waitresses and then complain about them when they walked away. I saw about 15 people waiting at the door to be sat and tables to be cleared away. However, she could not help because she had the important task of pouring syrup into to go cups. I was shocked by her laziness. As I watched customers leave because they weren’t being acknowledged, she barked demands at the other two servers who were running around trying to check on their tables. When my waitress came to take my credit card to be ran for payment, I said thank you as I sipped my coffee. Apparently this was not good enough for the older waitress because she then told me " What you don't speak English?" WHAT!?!? She said this a customer?!?! My hand is still shaking from her comment! It’s ok. Very, very fast but at the sacrifice of a great meal. Steak n eggs: “steak” barely 1/8” thick and served on same plate as eggs but don’t worry, it’s so thin, no steak juice will soak the eggs. Eggs are cooked too fast and over medium becomes an over easy with the runny whites and a brown skin coating from flash grilling. Hash browns have black dark pieces and then plain boiled pieces that didn’t get grilled - another affect of splatting them on a grill that’s too hot and never stirring. Toast is opposite: Well done toast is served lightly toasted as if it was barely in the toaster or a toaster that’s too cool. It is definitely edible and ok for a quick breakfast but just not great.
