The food is amazing here but the service is some of the worst I have ever had. We waited over 10 minutes for someone to greet us. She was walking all around us and they were not busy. When she finally started to come over, she saw a guest who had just walked in and said to us that she would be right with us. So she essentially helped someone who just walked in while we continued to wait. When she finally came she said you had to wait so long. She finally took our order and it took another 10 minutes for coffee and a mimosa plus two speciality juices. My husband asked for a spoon to stir his coffee and she never brought it (no silverware roll ups on the table). It didn’t matter because the sugar caddy was empty. When she dropped our food off she did not notice we did not have silverware (biscuits and gravey, and prosciutto roast) but we asked for some. She said sure and then walked off to greet another table. Did she not put 2 and 2 together that we can’t eat with our hands and the food would get cold? You think she would prioritize this. I looked around and saw 2 rollups on the wait station so I got up and brought them to the table. My husband finally had a spoon so he walked to another free table and got some sugar. She finally brought silverware and we were 1/2 through the meal. She came back 2 minutes later (my Husband had finished the biscuits and gravy, which was a side item) and I still had a third of my toast left. She looked right at me and asked me if I was full. I told her I was still working. At this point, we had a dirty dish and two empty glasses and she took nothing off the table. We never saw her again so we went to the cashier and asked for the check. She was able to find it and we paid.

Read moreI really don't like writing bad reviews but this was an absolute horrible experience here. I had brought out of town family with me for breakfast and we had plans after. They said it would be a 30-45 minute wait. After an hour we started asking as we saw empty tables everywhere with no one cleaning the tables. They did however have 2-3 hostesses doing pretty much nothing except standing around in the front. That was ridiculous. They had larger tables that could have been cleaned for our party of 8 but they chose to cram us in a booth. The waitress was nice at first. Half of us got our food, and half had to wait another 10-15 minutes. When we asked for utensils to eat with the waitress threw a pile of plastic wrapped forks in the center of the table. Most of the food was cold and one order never did go in. It was an hour and a half before we actually ate. By then there weren't a lot of people left in the restaurant, so I don't understand the bad service. I ordered the French toast special and when I actually got it, it looked nothing like the picture. We called a manager and he came to the table and instead of defusing the situation he made excuses. He did take $$ off our bill but the whole ordeal was a mess. Where is the real manager of this place, because ultimately they are at fault. They have no business being in the restaurant business in my opinion. And we were late for our event as well. I can not support a business like this, especially after we complained, they were all giving us dirty looks on our way out. One person in our party went to pay and she walked away before the transaction went through. He had to wave her down. He could have just walked out, but she came back rolling her eyes in irritation. No, I will never go back here on so...
Read moreThe fall seasonal menu has dropped at First Watch, and it’s time for my absolute favorite pumpkin pancakes! My husband and I discovered them last year, and couldn’t wait for the fall menu to return this year.
We visit First Watch about once a month. We enjoy their food and coffee—especially because they leave the carafe on your table to refill as needed. So handy!
Their pumpkin pancakes come with one giant (think plate-sized) pumpkin pancake, along with two eggs (I get them scrambled, with added cheddar), and either their chicken sausage patty, or any meat you prefer. Their pancakes are fluffy, and yet light and crispy. I don’t usually get pancakes when I go out, but theirs are divine. They give you a large scoop of whipped REAL butter (I always ask for two scoops) and warmed syrup that makes for a perfect pancake. My scrambled eggs are often overly firm, but they at least add sufficient cheese. I can never eat the whole pancake, so my husband enjoys finishing up the remainder. I only wish they cooked the eggs better—and the bacon should be crispier—hence only four stars.
My husband rotates between breakfast options, with his favorites being their farmhouse skillet and chili chorizo omelet. Sometimes, the skillet is overly salted. The last few times, the seasoning has been perfect.
Service is always great at First Watch. Simon, in particular, is attentive, efficient, and friendly.
I appreciate that I can pay with Apple Pay at the register. I wish more restaurants used Apple Pay, and this does positively factor into our decision to eat at First Watch as often as we do.
We plan to visit multiple times this fall season just to take advantage of the pumpkin...
