Went here for a birthday dinner and this was my first time at this location. The restaurant itself is beautiful; however, the staff and service was horrible. We had a reservation and still had to wait around at least 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated (entire dinner pastry had arrived), it took a very long time for a server to come to take drink orders. Everyone at the table was asked if they would like to place an order for an appetizer. There were two servers and one had a very nasty disposition and did not want to serve us. She had a very serious look on her face the entire time, never told us her name and was not friendly at all. We had to tell the server that we had been sitting for a while and would like to place our dinner orders. We sat and unbelievably long time waiting on our dinner to arrive. The white female manager (heavy set) stood at the front podium at the door a long with other staff and not one person including our servers came to check in with us to see if we needed drink refills or to give us an update on or orders. One of the people in our dinner party literally had to go to the bar and ask the bar staff for drink refills because our servers were not attentive and nowhere to be found. After such a long wait for the food, the food arrived inedible and disgusting. It was horrible. How can you mess up a Caesar salad? I typically visit another one of Firebirds locations and the Caesar salad is typically my favorite and this time the lettuce was wilted, the dressing was bland. It wasn’t good and I let my server know and she could visibly see that I didn’t eat it and did nothing about it (I still paid for it and was offered no substitution). If you’re with a larger party, be aware of the “Open foods” charge on the ticket as well. That is actually gratuity and it was ridiculously expensive. One person from our dinner party was charged $42 , others were charged $20 + for gratuity disguised as “open food.” After one of our dinner party members wasn’t going for it, the manager decided to remove it all together and allowed us to leave our own tips. Some left more than what was requested on the ticket but it was the principle of sneaking something on a check and not explaining it. We always tip good regardless but I can say that the service sucked so bad that the gratuity “open food” on the checks wasn’t fair for the poor service that we received. I feel the staff didn’t care to be attentive, friendly, kind, or helpful because they already were aware that we would be charged gratuity; therefore the customer service was nonexistent. I will not be returning to this location. They need better management and one that’s there to get the job done and not be friends with the staff. We spoke with the manager and advised of how rude and unprofessional our server was and the manager made the excuse that the server was not feeling well and was sent to the back. However, once we paid and was easy to leave , that same sever resurfaced to wait on another table. She should have stayed home or been sent home all together if she wasn’t feeling well. Food is too expensive for poor service and nasty food. They need to hire an entirely new kitchen staff as...
Read moreI took my wife to firebirds for valentines day and it happened to be our anniversary that week as well. It was packed and within seconds we were greeted by our waiter Noah and he made us feel like a million bucks and entertained us with his humor. He (Noah) then asked us if we were celebrating anything big in our lives, and then we mentioned our anniversary and he then made a significant deal and cracked some more jokes which had has laughing hysterically. It was our first time dining at this establishment and we had heard good things about the bacon wrapped filet, our plan was to just get that... but Noah changed that quickly. He told us we had to try the "famous" diamond pineapple vodka drink and said its not a successful date without it so I got one and one turned into two and i enjoyed it so much. Great recommendation! Then he told us there was literally no way we could leave without trying the "famous" lobster queso and again we ordered and it was amazing. And then we got our steaks and they exceeded the hype. And then the meal was over and we asked for the check and he brought that along with long forks. We were initially confused and he just said "who knows what might make its way out here" we didn't put the to and to together but then he arrived with the check and cheesecake and said happy anniversary! We were so surprised and the cheesecake was amazing. Everything about our special dinner was amazing thanks to Noah and the firebirds team. managers came and checked on us, other staff brought food and took plates away. Very well staffed and well working team. We will for certain be returning and asking for Noah, It was extremely busy and yet he was at our table side cracking jokes and making us feel comfortable while the food was cooking and once the food arrived he left us be and let us enjoy our special dinner and was nearly invisible while refilling our drinks and taking plates away. His knowledge of the menu and ability to sell products was impressive and got us to buy. Y'all made our night so incredible and I thank the team for that. Highly recommend, the prices are worth...
Read moreFirst time and it won’t be the last. The management and staff go over and above to make guests happy! Our server Amanda was delightful!
My husband ordered the prime rib and I had the aha tuna appetizer recommended by Amanda. I had considered the tuna superfood salad but I am so glad she said go with the appetizer, it was perfect after a long week of writing papers and peer reviews in my Summer program at George Washington University. The aha, tuna appetizer had a crunchy texture with a mix of sauces that gave it the perfect flavor! I loved it! Just what I was craving. As a Google Guide, managers usually bring out more food & dessert. One of the managers offered a few sweets and I’ll have to take her up on it the next time. But my husband was ready to walk in Birkdale Village. Stuffed with prime rib he thoroughly enjoyed!
There is a menu in the bar you must check out!
We will definitely be back to enjoy more of Firebird’s menu.
Update: Saturday, August 5, 2023 Ran errands across the street at Birkdale Village & we got hungry. I had my 80 year old mother in law with me. And since we just were recently here and had an outstanding experience it was easy to say let’s go again! My MIL is a small eater. I wanted a salad. I recommend sharing the seared tuna superfood salad. I took a video. Definitely enough for two. I believe the chef has a recommendation- I think it’s an avocado lime vinaigrette dressing.
My mother in law has a love for fries- we were both impressed with the seasoned steak fries. They taste so fresh, like homemade!
But the absolute best part of our early dinner was the dessert! The lemon cake with blueberries. Oh my! It was perfection! I can’t wait to try more of their sweets! I’m in love! I may have a cup of coffee the next time with my dessert. I had already ordered a sweet tea.
Big thanks to Tyler, the manager and Olivia our server for the outstanding...
