Read moreInitially there was some confusion as to where to check-in. They have a stand inside and one outside. Our reservation was inside, so we waited at the indoor stand for awhile and then discovered nobody was coming. We went outside and found someone at the stand. They stated that either stand would work, though nobody was attending the stand indoors. We were finally set at our table about 10-15 minutes after our reservation time. The server was prompt and kind. The chips and salsa were very good. All the food was good, though the fish did not seem particularly fresh. Margaritas were tasty, though with all the ice in the small glass, it was a bit overpriced for the amount of actual drink. The music was louder than our group wanted for a dining experience. We were a group of 4 and had a very difficult time hearing each other without yelling. We would have enjoyed the music being less of a club volume and more of a background/dining volume. While our server was very friendly and prompt, we did feel a bit rushed. Plates were cleared quickly even as others were still eating (waiting on tortillas). Overall, the place was nice and food was decent. Lower the music volume and try not to rush the guests. Also, would love to see a carnitas plate added...
Read moreThe service here is slow and disappointing, yesterday I got helped in a way that felt as if I was bothering one of the bartender. That is my only real issue. Unless the bartenders happen to know you, you don't get acknowledged/greeted and you're a sitting duck for large grip of time. Then when you do get approached, they address you almost like they didn't know you've waited half an hour to get helped and just "play dumb". Many of the bartenders will look straight at you then just go back to whoever they decide to make conversation with and give plenty of service to their favorites at the bar. I've dropped by several times, 9 times out of 10 felt invisible. I went yesterday on June 18th, 2023 and I think it's my final time, not that it matters since Sandbar will get plenty of people anyways. I genuinely like everything else about Sandbar, which is what's infuriating about my review. I literally would sit and watch a whole bunch of people get helped while I just linger and feel as if I don't belong there. I really like this place, the music and the food, but hate lack of service I've gotten. I can't say I'll be returning, and I'm honestly jealous of whoever gets helped here each time...
