Don Chente Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Huntington Park

I like coming to certain restaurants first thing in the morning. The food is fresh , and the staff is well rested and ready for the public. This was not at all what I was searching for this morning. Sandra T was serving , the bartista, greeter, you name it she was a one man show.

So after doing a live-in for several days. I decided to give this restaurant a chance. I brought my entire household of 4 here. It's been a local restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles. The landscaping and exterior is while kept. A long with, a statue of Vincente Fernandez just feet from the main entrance to this restaurant. Makes it all more interesting.

As you enter establishment, you see a photo of Vincente Fernandez they do shows on Thursday evening's with reservations. I'm curious 🤔

As a first timer here, let me say thank you to Sandra, who took care of us and the only one might I add that was taking orders.

For years in whittier I saw the mother restaurant to this location. I hear tell niether one is much in comparison.

Plenty parking within the Alameda plaza, and when I say plenty, I mean plenty. It just will not be as close as you'd prefer.

Food: Appetizers were on point, especially their chimichangas, and we will most definitely get those. Again, the chicken was so flavorful and juicey. Guacamole was a good side dish while waiting on our drinks and food.

The Carnitas burrito was beyond intimidating it was huge. Packed with great flavor. However, the rice was off and had no flavor.

Pozole was good, and it was also so good that I ended up switching plates with my company. I didn't care for my plate after receiving it. Good thing my company let me try there dish the pozole I had everything but the chunks of pork. I even had enough to bring home portion wise. The enchilada plate originally mine. I did not care for the rice. I was expecting the traditional Mexican rice. However, rice was like a rice pilaf. Beans were delicious! Enchiladas were ok there sauce was Devine.

During our whole visit, we had files and mosquitoes get on our food, and we were seen dodging them. Doors were asked to be closed. However, after we were leaving is when it happened. Not quite the visit and first morning visit I anticipated here.

I will be coming back here for dinner service sametime trying to make reservations to see there Thursday's evening show by reservations to see Vincente Fernandez impersonator quite interesting if you're a fan. In my case, my mother in law is I'm creating and making memories while she's going thru her journey of dementia. Music is therapy!!!!

Worst customer service ever! Me and my mom arrive to this restaurant. Just after a waiter put the menus on the table. A waitress with blonde hair came right after and ask us what we wanted to order? i just look at her and she said she would be right back. I felt she was rushing us. She came back took are order and drinks.Then after that another different waiter came and ask us, if we order already? i said yes. He was really nice and brought us are food. But i was confused, who was are waiter??We ask the male waiter for the check. So we can pay and leave. I just didnt feel the service was good and the music was really loud. Even the acing on the cake. When the female waitress with blonde hair came to are table again and stated to us, "the kitchen was about to close and did we wanted to order something else."I honestly didn't pay attention to what she said to us. Because i wanted to just pay and leave and we told her we were waiting for the other waiter to bring us are receipt. But that comment she said, "The Kitchen is about to close". It was really rude. Because first of all we see customers still coming in. How can you say the kitchen is about to close. Maybe she thought we didnt have money. For me that experince was the worst customer service and how can someone be a waitress and make stupid comments like that. When clearly we see customers are coming in. First and last time ill go...

Just a freeking WOW service that SUCKS! Yesterday I decided to go have some drinks with a couple of friends and my brother. The waiter who was helping us took forever to bring us our drinks and never brought us or offered us a menu so I decided to ask for one because that was the reason why my brother went, to eat so he did however ask me how long did it take him to come back and take my brothers order!? FOREVER! So I told my brother to go out to the little restaurants outside and bring the food over and then the attention finally came to my table (the waiter did not even have the guts to tell us on his own so he sent another waiter) and tried to kick my brother out with his food, so I told her that the waiter never came to take my brothers order and to the point he hadn't even brought us our drinks. So the lady decided to work something out with us & we did.

The last issue we had last night was the fact that the first dumb waiter mest up our orders and either over charged us or under charged us and did like 2 different transactions for all of us & kept blaming my friend for his mistake to the point where my friend said "who is right here the customer or the waiter?" He stayed quiet and then with an attitude said "what do you want me to do?" & we left not tip with that said:
