La Monarca Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Huntington Park

I went in to place an order for a cake and they charged me twice, they charged me 2 different prices . The employee that charged me said she was having trouble with my order and that it was booting my transaction so she swiped my card twice. When I called and told the manager Cecilia, she was extremely rude, she hung up on me and said she didn’t know what to tell me because there was only one transaction in her system. When I called her back after she hung up on me she tried to play it off and say she was another employee by the name of pricilla. I told her I was on my way to sort this out and I went in and showed her my phone and showed her both transactions and she basically said she didn’t care , she said she didn’t know what to tell me and that she would only refund one of the transactions. (At this point I wanted my refund for both transactions) When I asked her why she hung up on me, her response was “well I had nothing else to say to you” the audacity of this “manager” . She ended up giving me a refund for one of the transactions and said I would still get my cake on Saturday WHICH WAS ALL I WANTED FROM THE BEGGINING!! There was absolutely no need for her rudeness!!! I will be speaking to her store manager tomorro in regards of getting my refund back for the other transaction as well because I don’t want the cake anymore Cecilia has ruined my experience at this location and I just don’t feel comfortable returning and I don’t feel comfortable with her handling my cake. For all I know she’ll spit in my cake or something ! I love the cakes at this bakery! But you guys really need better employees with better customer service. I will not be returning and I hope I can get my other refund! I have proof of both transactions on my online...

You don’t even deserve 1 star to be honest, On Jan 4,2024 I have an event so I decided to ordered from the Monarca in Pacific Blvd and Gage Ave, in Huntington Park CA, I placed the ordered the day before it was a coffee for 50 people which they gave me 4 of the big cartons , I paid $112.00, When I arrived around 3:15pm the team at that location told me they will prepared the coffee for me, and I got confused because they supposed to have my order ready at 3:20pm to pick it up, I had to be at my event at 4:00pm at Downey, and that’s why I called the day before and they told me it should be ready at 3:20pm on Jan 04, I had to wait almost 50 minutes there because one lady told me they didn’t have the ticket to prepare my order with time, I got really mad And I was about to cancel everything but my husband told me to just wait couple of min because it was already late!, this is ridiculous I though The Mocarca will be very professional, They wasted my time and I was late at my event for that day! I don’t appreciate this kind of unprofessionalism, and I need to report this, I received a recommendation from family and friends that’s why I called not only the day before but the morning of the event! And the team at that location didn’t care! I will never order again or buy from this place or other locations and with this experience I will not recommend this restaurant ever again! Ridiculous ! People take your business somewhere...

I recently visited this bakery for the first time to place a catering order for some pan dulce for an event at work, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! I was unsure of what to order, but Martina, a very kind and knowledgeable baker, was incredibly helpful in recommending different types of breads. She explained how they use high-quality ingredients and that all the breads are made fresh daily. Her expertise really shone through, and I’m so grateful for the time she took to guide me through my options.

Sylvia, who was working at the register, also provided wonderful service. She was patient, kind, and efficient while taking down my order. When I came back to pick up my order, everything was ready on time, and the bread was a huge hit at my work event! It disappeared quickly, and I received so many compliments, with people asking me where I got it from.

I can’t believe I hadn’t been to this bakery before, especially since I live in the community. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place for anyone who needs fresh, delicious bread for work events or any type...
