Los Alpes Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Huntington Park

Major props to Los Alpes Ice Cream. I get nostalgic every time I come here. I have been visiting since I was a kid and the memories I have from this place are all great. The quality is just as good today as it was back then. I literally met my best friend here over 30 years ago and the interior still looks exactly the same.

I love coming here every chance time permits when I am visiting Los Angeles. It is one of those places that brings me right back and it never disappoints.

The flavor selection is amazing. Even though I usually keep it simple with cookies and cream, I have a hard time resisting the mamey and nuez every single time. Their ice creams are packed with ingredients. Cookies and cream is loaded with actual cookies and the nuez has that perfect nutty richness in every bite.

The staff and owner are always attentive, friendly, and genuinely pleasant. This place is a true Los Angeles institution. It still surprises me how many people do not know about this gem. If you have never been, do yourself a favor and check it out. You will see why it has been around...

I have been to Los Alpes 3 times before. In fact, the last two times I have been to Los Alpes was back in 2019 and the mangoneada was so flavorful and delicious! However, during my most recent visit , the quality and taste from my 1st two visits is was not there. I ordered tamarindo diablito and a mangoneada. The tamarindo diablito had mango cubes and the mango tasted like it was frozen for so long that it tasted like freezer burn, the mangoneada mango ice cream base was lacking strong mango flavor and was pretty bland.

Service was great! The lady who was working behind the counter was very polite and attentive. I like the cozy atmosphere of the place and I love the old school vibe. The Tae-Kwon-Do belts of the owner(?) and the newspaper articles are a testament to this place's charm. I am willing to give this place...

The one star is not for the ice cream because the ice cream is great the raspados or “shaved ice” are great the reason why I’m giving it 1 star is because of the attitude of the employee that took my order today she was really rude and was screaming at clients she ever told an older man to get out and wait outside till she called him to come inside she rolled her eyes when we asked her to change the milk paleta for a water paleta. I hope that they either speak to her about her attitude and she changes it or they get rid of her because I go to this place to pay for their delicious treats NOT TO BE TREATED...
