Saturday 3/9/24 5:00 pm. Delicious food but not fine dining just because they use cloth table covers, napkins and stemmed water glasses. The service is far from fine dining. They close in the afternoon then open at 5pm for dinner but the table was messy and so was my cloth napkin. We would come back for the chicken tikka masala. It was so good. I did not want to stop eating it but for $15 there should be more chicken. There is no vegetable side or Naan included, only chicken, sauce and rice. It's not a complete meal.
We were greeted immediately when we walked in. There were 5 other tables seated and the tables are not crowded together. Two tvs on nearby playing the news and some reality show. We were given a pitcher of water to pour our first glasses. I think if this was truly a fine restaurant the server would have poured the first glasses before setting down the pitcher. My cloth napkin was dirty so we exchanged it for a clean one from a nearby vacant table. The table cloth was pretty messy but my napkin should always be fresh and clean because I wipe my mouth with it. I watched a lady behind the counter heartily rubbing her finger in her eye and then she immediately tidied some menus with her unwashed finger. We ordered the appetizer nawab platter $9 which came with one samosa, one potato patty and several pakora and the tiniest ramekin of tamarind dip. The samosa and potato patty are pretty spicy. The food came quickly. We also ordered chicken tikka masala $15 which was amazing, I didn't want to stop eating it, probably my favorite Indian food. We ordered malai kofta $13 which came with 5 small cheese balls and the nuts and Raisins must've been minced because I never saw them or distinctly tasted them. They were good. I wouldn't order again but I'm glad we tried it although I've had much better. Both entrees came with large portions of Basmati Rice. They gave me a side of hot spices in oil because i like spicy but my husband doesn't and we were sharing. We also ordered garlic Naan $4.50 and it was stiff with crispy black edges, my husband loved it. We were directed to walk to the counter to recieve our bill $44. I asked and I was surprised when they said they are not a family owned restaurant. I would come back, definitely for the...
Read moreOn a trip to Cabell hospital in Huntington, Nawab was recommended by the hospital staff, so I drove up to try it and I am SO GLAD I did! The exterior of the building isn't special, but once you step inside, you are transported to an exotic location, with crystal glasses and sculptured cloth napkins at each table, fine tablecloths and solid china. Fine decor adorns three walls, with a full bar across the back. Service with a smile meets you as you enter and are ushered to a comfortable seat with plenty of room between tables. No sardines here! Super comfortable. The menu is vast, thorough, and fully representative of very fine cuisine!
I ordered onion bhajia to start, and they were perfect! Crisp yet squishy inside, a cup of hot tea, brewed to perfection, came next. Then the masterpiece! The chicken jalfreze (sp) was hands down the VERY BEST I've ever eaten! Perfectly spiced, just enough to make your lips sizzle, atop a bed of perfect basmati. I savored Every. Single. Bite. I even had enough to bring home a second serving, which I just ate for dinner. And the flavors just got BETTER!
If you have not treated yourself to a night out for a very fine meal lately, this place should top your list of options! Don't miss out on this delicious, exquisite cuisine, in this fabulous upscale restaurant. You won't be disappointed! Enjoy. SAVOR! ...
Read moreFood was fine here. Some dishes were mediocre and some were goos. Service was terrible. We came in, and I received a message which I was checking. The server basically shoved the menu in my face without even the slightest of the intimation. Very rude! We were not given all our orders together. At first, my colleges were given rice and I wasn't. They were not given their naans, but they got their curries. They waited for a good 10 minutes before they received their naans. I was told I'll be getting my serving of rice soon. And after asking three times, over twenty minutes, I was told that my serving of rice was included in the serving of rice with my colleagues. The dessert was given after I was given the check. I was overcharged for the food. Apparently, the prices were changed on their new system but the menus were not upgraded. I stood my stand to paying for what was provided on the menu, and not a dime more. My colleagues were overcharged as well. All this happened when there were one other set of patrons. All other tables were empty and this was 2 hours before closing. If they cannot handle two tables, I am not sure how they would be able to handle the situation when most of the tables are occupied. Not a good experience. Not going to recommend the...
