Mimosas for 25 cents @Catch25 on Saturdays —it’s a yes for me every time! #fyp #huntsvillealabama #brunch #mimosas #blackownedbusiness

Very disappointed to say the least. Came in around 7:30. Was seated shortly by a server upon arrival. She was extremely sweet. She bright me a glass of water almost immediately and I asked her to put in an a dirty martini with tito’s & I also order 2 items off of the Happy Hour menu. I order Shrimp Tacos (comes with 2 nice sized tacos) and Buffalo Shrimp. Both plates prices at $10 between 4-8PM. I watched as the bartender engaged with the guests at the bar but took his time making drinks for the other guests around the restaurant. After 25 minutes I asked my server if she would check on my drink. By then the table before me had gotten through their appetizers, cocktails, and was now eating their entrees. Lots of cursing and yelling being done at the bar by what I would observe as overly drunk guests. My biggest problem though was watching my server go directly to the bartender and ask about my martini and the Bartender shoo’d her away from his bar stating that he was aware of what she needed and he was working on it. The guests overheard her and his discussion and one blurted out “Who the fuck needs a dirty martini anyway” They carried on laughing, bartender included. My Happy Hour appetizers came out soon after and they looked alright. The Shrimp Tacos were the best thing I had eaten this evening so I was okay with paying $10 for only 2. Buffalo shrimp are literally just that. Large battered shrimp tossed in a strong buffalo sauce. My drink came to my table and it was a disgrace. Glass wasn’t even half full, no ice crystals, no condensation and the olives looked underdeveloped and sad. I took a sip of my martini and it was rancid. I was pissed. Imagine waiting 30 minutes for a drink and you can taste the “Here! damn!” in the ingredients. Just thrown together and not a care in the world of its presentation. My server was only person working my table. I seen other tables being brought out food from other servers/Server assistants but my server was the only one to come to me and do for me. She was working multiple tables and was constantly moving around which I respect, but I felt forgotten about and uncared for. I asked for the drink to be taken off of my tab and to check out immediately. No take home, because none of it was worth it. So glad that I only wasted $20. I’m hoping that things get better but I don’t plan to be back any time soon. The environment felt uncontrolled and extremely chaotic. The only person that seemed to be having a good time was the bartender and he was not pleasant towards the other staff. It seemed as if he was acting like they were beneath him in front of the guests. My server was very honest about what he said to her in regards to her checking on my drink and it came off unprofessional and very bully-like. Uncomfortable to witness. Overall not worth it. Sorry not sorry.

Just wasn’t our vibe. Actually we went in not knowing what to expect. But there wasn’t much of a line between loud, neighborhoodish, sports bar-feel area and white, butcher-paper-over-tablecloths seating. The space is small so this really isn’t an intimate dining space. This is only half the space of the previous tenant. The TV over our table was on the Weather Channel so I got to watch natural coastal disasters throughout the meal. Another TV across the room closer to the bar was on a sports channel. The place is understaffed, which is not the fault of the restaurant. We saw one bartender, and two servers our entire visit. There was no hostess at the door; one of servers who seemed to be doing all the work seated us. It took 13 minutes for our server (not the one who seated us) to acknowledge us, but not before she acknowledged a table across the room, one to two minutes after they’d been seated, well after us, and on the way to our table, BEFORE dropping off water to our table. We started off with Caesar side salads, which were ok. The homemade croutons were good. Husband ordered the fried shrimp. He was disappointed in the overall quality of the shrimp, and the two, teeny-tiny hush puppies. The cole slaw which accompanied the entree had a peculiar taste which he found unpalatable. There was a pinkish tint to it. The dish also came with fries. I had the shrimp and grits. The sauce on the grits was ok; the shrimp just had an odd texture, to me, and they weren’t very flavorful. The grits were pretty good but became thick very quickly. Over the course of our meal, we were never offered beverage refills (We both had iced tea.). We opted out of dessert, as a very large party was about to be seated next to us. Our tab came to $80 which seemed pretty steep considering our experience.

So we went there for my daughter’s 22nd birthday dinner. We had a reservation for 1pm. My daughter received a phone call from this establishment around noon the same day stating that the kitchen closes at 1:30 so we needed to be there on time. Completely understandable and we were perfectly fine with the heads up! Her and I arrived at 1pm sharp. There was a couple that walked in right before us that clearly had no reservation be cause the host made us wait until she cleared off a table in order for them to sit down. Our table was already prepared to be seated. Did I say they literally walked in right before us? So, she made us wait until 1:07 to seat us because she was more concerned about sitting a couple that walked in with no reservation before seating us! Long story short we didn’t receive waters until approximately 1:21. Had to rush to put our food order in at 1:24. Didn’t receive our first cocktail until 1:40… food came a little after 2pm. Not to mention the same host sat 2 different parties after us and they had waters, cocktails, their orders taken, and food received before us! We asked for a manger and the host stated that the manager stated that she would “try to come out and talk to us” Like seriously?… Any restaurant that Ive frequented where I had to ask for a manager the manager always made it a priority to come speak to the table! It shouldn’t t even be an option! None the less the server kept forgetting things… he even walked past us SEVERAL times before acknowledging us…( at least four times to the point where I was sure he wasn’t going to be our server) This had to be the worst service I have EVER HAD! The calamari was delicious and the french fries were good. Not good enough to go back though and thanks Catch 25 for making my daughters birthday dinner a complete disaster. If it wasn’t for her really wanting the oysters we would have inconvenienced ourselves and went somewhere else! Too many other restaurants downtown to deal with this service ever again. Hate to throw the race card around but we were one race and the other three tables that were clearly treated as a priority were...
