I have never written a negative public review before, but I think it’s important to highlight what poor customer service looks like. We have been dining in and doing takeout here regularly for over 2 years and have had small issues here and there, but nothing major that would warrant not coming back until today. I called to place a to go order and asked that my food be placed in separate containers as the past few times I’ve ordered the Quesadillas Mexicana, by the time I got home my tortilla shells are soggy from being placed in the same container as the sour cream/pico/lettuce side that comes with the dish.
When I placed the order the hostess said she understood that I wanted everything separate. This would mean one additional container, as the rice and beans always comes separate. My husband arrives and checks our order since we have gotten home before and been given the wrong meat choice. He lets them know that the boxing is incorrect as my sour cream/pico/lettuce is now in the same container as the rice and beans. I specifically asked for everything to be separate so that cold and hot food are not mixing.
They agree to fix it and he once again checks for correctness before leaving and calls me, which I guess they had an issue with and the manager or hostess proceeds to tell my husband that we will be charged for the extra container moving forward. I then call back asking to speak to someone regarding this and the lady who answers the phone tells me that they are always suppose to charge for to go containers but choose not to. I asked when this became policy and she tells me since the opening of the restaurant.
So you have a supposed policy in place that you don’t ever follow, until today because we asked for one extra separate container. Not only do I not believe this, but if such was the case you should have stated such when I made the request while placing my order. When asked how much it will be moving forward she tells me $1. I have no problem paying extra for things, but the rude customer service that made my husband feel uncomfortable enough to need to call while still there speaks volumes in addition to the attitude I was met with when I called back for clarification.
Unfortunately this will be our last time dining here, which I’m genuinely sad about as we have tried so many different Mexican places in town and this was one of the few places I have consistently enjoyed. It costs so much to eat nowadays so poor customer service over an additional dollar is just...

Have been here once before it was decent. So, ww decided to go back and give another try. I should have gone to Taco Mama instead better service and food there. The same waitress that sat us last time got us. Same attitude disinterested just another table to her. We ordered simple things fajitas and a combination and cheese dip. The first time the cheese dip was trash thought maybe a bad batch but sucked it up literally it's just milk no cheese in it and it never thickens like 99% of other Mexican restaurants It literslly is trash they are obviously working on tight margins restaurant as they nickle and dime everything. The smallest side cups of salsa and charge you for more. But we decided to try it again this time thinking it can't be that bad but it was the same trash. Told them we didn't want it had to " see about taking it off" first red flag. Talked to someone and the waitress came back and took it back. Next our food came out the worst fajitas I'd ever seen it was a mound of onions, and peppers there was hardly any steak for $18. Asked the manager can you bring us more steak he acted like we had just disrespected his resturaunt. We sat there didnt eat it and told him to find the steak. I even grabbed the skillet that just was delivered by the handle as it was all luke warm. What mexican restaurant does fajitas come out not sizzling? Told him we weren't paying for the fajitas paid for what we got and left. But now reading the reviews this is a common occurrence for this place. Would not recommend other better restaurants in providence. Taco Mama beats them in every category and has a better atmosphere and staff. Hope this helps you all avoid this place and experience like we will be from now on. Since the manager said he didn't care about losing our business, then I hope this reaches many more. We now understand why folks go to Rosie's, Las Trojas, and Phil Sandavols because these smaller restaurants aren't it...
Read moreMy first experience with Charritos was not good. Went with a group. Waiter asked my drink order immediately upon sitting down. My friends mentioned that it was happy hour until 6:00 PM. I looked at my watch. It was 5:55 PM. I told the waiter that my wife and I wanted margaritas and specifically mentioned happy hour but needed a minute to decide. He didn't return to get our order until 6:07 PM and said he would not honor happy hour pricing. He was not friendly about so I asked for his manager. The manager came to our table to talk to us. He was not friendly at all either. They both had poor attitudes while we were respectful to them. The entire group ended up canceling their food orders to leave and go else where. I don't plan to ever go back to Charritos. Not a fan of the attitudes of the waiter or manager. I don't think we were asking for something unreasonable. The waiter knew we wanted to partake in the happy hour pricing but failed to acknowledge that he didn't come back for our order prior to it ending. Both the waiter and his manager acted like...
