I've been a 'day shift' patron here for about 17 years, so I'm admittedly biased. But here is my take, for what it's worth: First - understand that it really is a sport's bar (as an earlier reviewer pointed out). That means it can get loud and bit rambunctious at times. The beer selection is fairly standard, with the usual mix of craft beers that you find at most sport's bars. Domestic draft pints are happy-hour priced until the night-crowd comes in. Burger days (Tuesday & Thursday) are the best bargain in the Mid-Cities - and they are quite good - but still very reasonably priced even at 'regular price'. There are TWO 'crown & down' days...free bar-table pool on Mondays... plenty of TVs, the MLB package & the NFL package. So - yeah...I'm a fan... I've had most of the stuff on the menu & it's all good-to-very good. Anyway - if you've never been, give them a shot...try a lunch, a cold pint & an afternoon baseball game... I think you'll enjoy the place. Yes, there is smoking. It is clearly marked & restricted to the bar area. The ventilation is VERY effective, with powerful 'smoke-eaters' keeping things well under control. If you're highly allergic to cigarette smoke at any level, then yeah - find another place. But for most folks, you will barely notice smoke in the table-area, and even at the bar, most of the smokers are polite (the "regulars", anyway)... but there is a small 'non-smoking' stretch at one end of the bar too. Ron is not kidding with his comments here - if you ever have a problem, let him know & he will try to 'fix' it (within reason,...
Read moreWe found out about this place from Trivia and at first were very excited because we tried the wings and they were really good... However, since our first time we have seen a few large roaches climbing on the walls near our booth, our friend had a flying one land in her hair in front of everyone. A week ago, we saw a huge rat outside the window of our booth scurrying around trying to get in. We know these things can't always be helped but it definitely isn't appetizing. We still like the wings though!
What happened tonight is what prompted me to write this review...the waitress was rude...never introduced herself..no thank you or you're welcome...no manners what so ever. She seemed super impatient to have to wait on us and she hardly came around including when it was time to pay. We had to wait for almost a half hour to pay and had to ask another waitress to find our waitress for us and she could not find her either. Finally, when our waitress appeared and we were finally able to pay with our Broncos giftcard, only to have the waitress say they don't accept their own gift cards anymore. We spoke to the manager and he would not honor the gift card either. Mind you, we received this gift card only a month or so ago and the place that issues the gift cards won't even honor it because of their "system update". The way I am starting to feel about this place with the roaches, rats, rudeness, and rip offs...is if it weren't for trivia, we will not and would not give business to this...
Read moreRevisited the place after 5 years (so Google maps informed me). They used to have THE best burgers with a backyard grilled flavor, but we stayed away because they were a smoking friendly establishment. The good news is that it looks like they moved all the smoking out to the patio: we saw no smokers inside and ash trays only on the patio tables. Did not order the burgers since the tacos sounded good on the menu. Wrong decision. On a two pulled pork Taco order, the refried beans and rice should not be the best things on the plate. The pulled pork had good flavor but was a tad dry. The wheat tortillas were either grill heated poorly or stale; they were stiff and cracked when folding around the meat. Worst, the cilantro was treated like a condiment, just sprinkled on like shredded lettuce. (Cilantro is way overrated and used entirely too much everywhere. ) I did my best to scrape it off but could still taste it an hour after we left. My wife's patty melt was near perfect, on the other hand. All the parts came together just right. We loved the onion rings! Service was top notch. Seated right away, server was prompt and accurate. It was kind of loud with some boisterous guys at the bar, but hey, it's a sports bar not a family restaurant. They made it a fun atmosphere. Will be going back to see if the burgers still have that backyard...
