I’m shocked that people could give this place a 5-star. For starters, the rooms are beat up. I was on the 6th floor. The first room I was in had a HORRIBLE stain on it. Unfortunately I used my imagination. Sometimes I don’t like my imagination…🤢🤮. Next, the shower was luke warm for about 5-6 minutes, then out of nowhere got scorching hot. Next, the AC unit!!! I swear to you I almost got up and threw it out the window. Every single time it would kick on and for about 30 seconds following that, it made a horrible noise. Enough to wake me from a dead sleep every single time. And then right when I fall back asleep, it clunks again waking me up again. It was a very very long night.
The next day, I went down by the pool area. Well, enough said there. I get that maybe it isn’t open due to the season but this is just embarrassing. I went to ask for a different room for the second and third night and they gave it to me. This room appears to be ok, minus the obvious abuse it has taken since the last remodel, which from the looks appears to have been quite a while ago. Their continental breakfast is just ok. Has half that of other hotels I’ve stayed at. Next, and this is possibly one of the most annoying things, there’s no usb or usbc ports to plug in my charger cables for my phones! And to make things worse, one side of the bed has the only two outlets taken! One by a clock, and one by the light mounted on the wall!! No outlets on either of these two devices. Next, on the other side of the bed, the outlet is covered by one of the legs from the little nightstand table they made! So I had to go to the opposite side of the bed that I sleep on, unplug the wall mounted light fixture and luckily I had a two port wall charger for both my phones to charge from one outlet or I’d be needing to go to the bathroom counter to plug my stuff in. Even the lowest tier best western had USB ports to plug into! Come on Hyatt think outside the box a little!!
First let me start off by saying if you click on my profile, I write reviews often. More often than not I give positive reviews, so you will see I am no complainer generally speaking, but this property…eww…I was told Hyatts are a step above others, but let me tell you, the last 6 best western plus’s I stayed at prior to trying this Hyatt experience were ALL superior, and not just by a little, by a lot! From the bed comfort, to the continental breakfast. I am quite shocked I gave a 2 star. With my troubles and the pool I should have done 1, but here I am still stuck...
Read moreNick was exceptional at check in. Unfortunately since we got in so late that night after a 2 day drive from NY, we didn't realize the ants crawling all over the side tables, headboard, and bed until the next morning in room 316. YUCK. The AC also clunked and there was large stains in the carpet. The hot water also didn't work in the shower until about 20 minutes in.
When we went to the front desk on Thurs 5/25 around 4-5 pm the lady at the desk was rude and condescending. She spoke with an accent. The ONLY option in her eye was that we needed to immediately move to a room with a bed half the size of the one we had for the night then move again to another room the next night. Let's just say we weren't happy having to spend our entire vacation moving rooms and we voiced that. The front desk lady actually told us she would refund our money and walked away. We aren't quite sure what happened after we went back to our room as we had more family staying at the same hotel, however it did get resolved and we were able to only move rooms once with an "upgrade" to a handicapped room.
312 was in poor shape too. There were two phones in the room that weren't even plugged in, the shower curtain was too short for the tub and literally brown, the headboard wasn't fastened or something because it creaked every time your pillow hit it (we had to shim it with TISSUES so we could sleep), there was a piece of tissue stuck in the door peephole, the remote for the TV was missing, and the AC didnt cool the room at all. The fridge also needs defrosting because it was clogged and just dripped water.
It was also disappointing as no resteraunt on site, the drinks and snacks they had available so you didn't have to leave was card only, frozen, and expensive. The pool was also closed by the city which makes you wonder what else is wrong with the place.
The only positive in this was Nick's welcoming demeanour and vision to turn this place around. He tried very hard to make everyone's stay right and he took the time to get to visit with and know his guests. If it wasn't right around the corner from where family lived, I'd probably try another...
Read moreThis has to be one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had, and there have been quite a few. We flew into DFW due to a death in the family. As usual, in the Metroplex, traffic was atrocious. We got to the hotel with just enough time to check in, drop our bags, and head to the family gathering. Reservations had been made days in advance. Upon being greeted at the counter, we were told they have had problems, and there were not any complete rooms. Unsure of what that meant, we inquired. 'Well, most rooms are missing TV's, some don't have all the furniture, many are missing coffee makers, ...... Abby, the General Manager, offered to try to book us in another hotel. We explained that we were in a time crunch and asked exactly what we could get as a room. Abby, the GM, seemed confused, and she explained it wasn't their fault. OK, what is available? She didn't know but would go look at the rooms. Thirty minutes later, she returned with the good news. There was a room available. However, there is no TV, no coffee maker, and NO A/C in the room. Are you kidding me? No A/C in the room, in Texas, and I am expected to pay fully. Luckily one of the other hotel employees recalled they had turned away an underage guest and had not cleared the room off of hold. Close to an hour to get to a room that was in bad shape. The TV worked for about an hour when we got back that night. The remote died, and we unplugged it. The attached pictures are only a few of the possibilities of documenting the bad conditions. Hyatt should be ashamed to have their name associated with this establishment. There is absolutely NO way I could ever recommend Hyatt Place Fort...
