I will start this off saying I've tried in-N-Out prior in San Diego 1 time. As to give this company a fair chance I decided to try them again. Boy, was that a mistake. Let's start off with what this company passes off as "fries". With the only notable "flavor" being the 45 lbs of salt that was covering these things. Otherwise they have the texture, flavor and consistency of cardboard. 3 seconds into receiving my order, these cold shoestring cardboard sticks served no point to the meal. I ordered the #1 "double double" meal. I can only assume that the person that saturated the cardboard sticks in all that sodium violently attacked the beef in the burger with just as heavy of a hand of sodium. Secondly, seeing that the burger was placed into a fry bag for protection after it's assult. I slid the burger out of its hiding place apparently not far enough to notice it was also wrapped in a small security blanket. Guess my surprise when the only way I realized it had a security blanket was not due to taste or flavor but looking down while driving and noticed a small bite taken out of said blanket. Well, I soon came to appreciate it's little blanket and hiding hole as 1/2 way through the burger it was offering a very small amount of wrapping power against the ailing burger. This burger became so soggy that you would have thought that I dunked it into the pink tinted sour water I ordered. It was literally falling apart quicker then I was able to eat it. My pink tinted sour water was the highlight of the meal and even it was bad. I've never had lemonade watered down so bad. I stand corrected, my young son at one time brought me a glass of country time pink lemonade where he added one teaspoon of powder. This reminded me of him. But, I digress. This meal reminded me of how much I did not like In-N-Out burger. Thank you for...
Read moreSo as a whataburger stan, their quality has gone down tremendously and my husband suggested in n out. I've had them once before years ago when the restaurant first opened and only remember hating the fries so I never went back. So we went and their menu is pretty simple and straight to the point. I just got a cheeseburger and my husband got a double double meal. The cheeseburger was really good other than the too much onion. They put an entire ring slice of fresh onion on their burgers which is pure insanity. It overpowers the flavor but I know this one review won't change what they've been doing for God knows how long. If it werent for that the burger would get 5 stars for sure. The bun was good and the burger was seasoned well. I tasted my husband's fries and they weren't QUITE as bad as I remembered but they weren't good. They have a weird texture to them. It's like fried Styrofoam. I hate it so much. They don't give you enclosed food when you order to go so unless you live really close by your food will be cold btt you get home which is what happened with our food. We live in fort worth so it was a little over a 10 minute drive and our food was a little above room temperature when we started eating it. All that being said, I'll probably go back if it's late and I want a good burger but I hate that I only have the burger as an option to eat. I wish they offered tater tots or...
Read moreAs all reasonable people know, In-n-Out burgers are the pinnacle of burger excellence, the top quality-for-value standard that all lesser burger places strive and fail miserably to emulate - I’m looking at you, Shake Shack and Five Guys!
But today I had a singular experience - when I pulled up to the window, Mario at this location told me I was in luck, because he makes an especially good burger.
Astonishingly, he was right. He has somehow managed to improve perfection, as every tiny detail was cooked and assembled especially well in the 4x4 I got.
To start with, it looked like a burger from commercials. Each patty distinct and separated, the cheese perfectly melted, the tomato and pickles sticking out just so…I took a bite: a heavenly choir began to sing. Divine light began subtly emanating from the burger. A suffusion of well-being and satisfaction permeated the room.
This is allegory, of course - don’t stare at the finger, pay attention to the moon it’s pointing to.
I eat these at least 7 times a week, and it was something special. So heartfelt props to you, Mario, and this location in particular!
For a transcendental burger experience, come here and look...
