Terrible service. Never ate here before, will never try to again. The food took two hours and ten minutes to arrive and the person on the phone was unhelpful, rude and generally incompetent.

I ordered delivery at 19:45 on a blustery Saturday night, about a mile away. The person on the phone didn't tell me how long the food would be and I neglected to ask, which I realized as the call disconnected. Didn't call back to ask as I figured it wasn't a big deal.

An hour and ten minutes later I called the restaurant back. The guy said the food was on its way. I asked how long it might be and he said that the driver was laden down with orders, and after asking for an estimate (we were hungry!) he said he'd ask the driver and call me back.

Ten minutes later I call the restaurant back (1:20 after initial order) and the guy tells me that I should have ordered pickup instead. After explaining that information would have been helpful as I placed the order he starts lecturing me about the weather, how the night was busy and that they only had two drivers on that night who currently had 5 or 7 orders each. At the end of this he says, "so sorry, OK?", repeating this as if to shoo me off the phone.

Two hours and ten minutes later (50 minutes after last contact with the restaurant, with the last estimate being "maybe 20 minutes") the driver calls me to indicate he's almost there. I inform him that we're no longer interested in the food. He replies "Oh, OK, cool" and hangs up the phone.

This was my first and last experience with Siam Thai Cuisine. They seem uninterested in...

Long story short: we got sick today after our meal and cannot recommend.

Went here earlier today with a date. I love a hole in the wall with authentic cuisine and was hoping for that experience today. I ordered beef with garlic sauce, a soup and Thai tea. My date ordered shrimp with lobster sauce.

I'm a pretty adventurous eater and I love Thai, my date has never had it but likes to try new things. I explained that Thai shrimp w lobster sauce will not be the same as Chinese.

There was one party finishing their meal when we arrived, and we were the only ones in the restaurant remaining. This was around 730pm. Our server rushed us to decide on our meals. Food was served fairly quickly.

My soup was great, but both our entrees were not just disappointing, but inedible. They were served on flat plates- both with very watery, muddy brown sauce, that would clearly be cold within a few minutes.

My date took one bite and could not continue, he said it tasted weird. I picked up a piece of what might resemble some shredded lobster from his plate and it was spongy and tasted of spoiled seafood.

We asked for the check and our server was surprised that we did not take any of the food ordered with us to go. We left full plates behind. We did not request refund or meal replacement.

Within two hours we both were sick. Cannot recommend for service,...

Stopped here for lunch and I was the only one in the restaurant. The waiter sneezed into his hand and wiped it on his apron as he was bringing it to me. I decided to look past it (definitely was my first mistake). Food was okay, but in my 30 minutes sitting, there no came from the back to check in on me which, again, was fine and I could look past. I paid using a barcode on the table and waited another 5-10 minutes to see if anyone would come from the back so I could let them know I paid. When no one did, I got up and left. I guess they heard the bell ring as I walked out because the waiter came running from the back and as I was half way across the street ran out and accused me of stealing, telling me I needed to pay. I told him I paid online and he told me I needed to come in while he checked. I did and he saw that I, of course, had paid and told me I was free to go. The whole situation was just embarrassing and felt racist. No one came from the back in the last half an hour and when I finally do leave and before even checking he chases after me into the street immediately accusing me of stealing. Food wasn’t even all that good to be dealing with unsanitary servers and what felt like...

I gave 2 stars for the service and eggrolls otherwise I was truly a bit disappointed with this being my first experience at this restaurant. I was a walk -in customer and was recieved by a friendly gentleman who promptly took my order......I ordered Beef Pad Thai or should I say Pad Thai w/ a bit of beef and Chicken egg rolls. The eggrolls were delicious the Pad Thai left alot to be desired, it was very dry not really any flavor at all alot of noodles and the egg was tasteless and I believe it was egg substitute and there wasn't any bean sprout or so little I couldnt detect it or anything else hardly, there were blind spots ( unsauced noodles) green onion was not cooked in the noodles but rather a few white pieces of the green onion thrown on top of the dish along with the chopped peanuts and carrots. The beef consisted of about 6 very thin and small small dry flavorless pieces of beef. I was hungry and I ate but my taste for Pad Thai was hardly sated. Maybe tonight was an off night for the cook or something because they have great reviews which were not reflected in my selection of a meal.

I was in the Hyde Park Area in Chicago and my dad and I were going to get a deli sandwich and we happened upon this delightful place. I grew up going to restaurants in this area. We were immediately greeted by a member of the waitstaff who promptly seated us. We decided to split a plate, and to add a couple of things and the servings were generous. It was enough for my dad to take a little snack home for tomorrow. We ordered the dinner special and we had chicken fried rice, soup, an egg roll, and a cucumber salad. We also ordered spring roll and everything was delicious and fresh. There was a generous amount of chicken breast, and vegetables. The staff was so friendly and they were very accommodating. The soup was so delicious we ordered some for my dad to take home.

Siam might not be the most authentic Thai restaurant in Chicago, but it is the warmest place for Thai students around University of Chicago. They serve students here generation after generation. The food tastes home to me. Catfish basil was the dish that we always fought for the last piece. The fried tilapia topped with special sauce is another dish we always ordered in the time of celebration. When I visited the restaurant last time, my friend who was there for the first time ordered the simple soup and it was amazingly good! I will definitely come back for food here when I visited U of Chicago again.
