TLDR: Fantastic food, friendly service.
Party of three. We went in and were promptly seated by the hostess. We chose to sit inside (apparently this was a mistake; there are fireplace tables outside). The atmosphere resembled a typical laid back grill spot with a bar on one side. Our waitress was friendly, cool, and had a great attitude and sense of humor.
We ordered a Conner’s Reuben (with a side salad), Chimichanga (beef, black beans, spicy verde), and a Chimi Bow (chicken, pinto beans, salsa verde). We also got hot cider, seeing that “cidery” was in the name of the restaurant. It was pretty good; it tasted fresh and was just the right combination of sweet and tangy. It was topped with whipped cream, which tasted…mechanical? No surprise if straight out of a canister. The Reuben, “named #1 in Colorado,” was amazing. It was quite possibly the best reuben I’ve ever had in my life. It was cut in halves and juicy, tender, sweet, sour, savory, and creamy. My only complaint (really a nitpick) was that the sandwich got a little dry around the edges. My assumption is that the sauerkraut/thousand island wasn’t spread all the way to the crust. The side salad was fresh and had heirloom tomatoes. It did cost an extra $2.50. The Chimichanga was pretty good. It was a huge chunk of a burrito and had a great flavor from being deep fried. The contents were not dry at all and mixed amazingly. The spicy verde salsa wasn’t all that spicy. The Chimi Bowl was probably the least favored, but that doesn’t mean it was bad. The ingredients came assembled around the plate and it was dependent on us to mix them. The chicken on its own was bland and a little dry, and the tomatoes were…just that. I guess we were expecting more of a pico de gallo? No matter though. All mixed together, it was pretty good - just a little mushy. Both of the chimis came with sour cream and a bowl of what resembled/tasted like chili. The chili was great; hearty, savory, and overall delicious.
We left on full stomachs and extremely happy. I would 10/10 recommend this spot to anyone dropping by for a casual/laid back meal. Will come back next time we’re in...
Read moreThe food is absolutely wonderful, I could live off of their mac and cheese. They have a wide array of food that should be able to please everyone, my friend had one of the burgers and thought it was delicious. The reason they are only getting 3 stars is we arrived were given water and menus and didn't see our server for 43 minutes. There were at least 5 other tables that were sat and had their drink and food orders taken that arrived at least 10 minutes after our group. We had to go up and order our drinks from the bar because our server was MIA, you would think after a customer has to get their own drinks the service would improve but it did not. We watched so many people get their food before we were even given the option of ordering. When we arrived the outdoor dining area was empty, it was completely full 15 minutes after we arrived and every single table was served before us. We spent 2 hours at the restaurant and maybe 20 minutes of that was actually spent eating. I understand everyone is short staffed, but this wasn't a staffing issue they simply ignored us. How do i know that? A new group of servers started working shortly after our arrival and discussed who was taking what tables near where we were seated, they pointed to our table and said " I don't know what's going on with them" then didn't bother to assign us a new server, even though ours was obviously busy doing other things. We were given a "locals discount" due to the wait, but I am a local so... ?. I didn't want a discount for the trouble I wanted our server to actual show up to our table more than 4 times throughout the meal especially after we literally had to go to the bar order our drinks and bring them back to the table ( 1. Water/Menu 2. Food Order 3. Check 4. Box that was forgotten after we asked for the check & box). I'll definitely eat here again the food is amazing, but I sincerely hope they train the serving...
Read moreWe took a short walk into town from our hotel at Indian Hot Springs Lodge and were drawn into Clear Creek Cidery by their posted menu selection. Their offerings looked both delicious and affordable. They offer al fresco dining in either the front or back patio, which was quiet and quaint. A storm blew in and we moved inside, our waitress was patient and accommodating and we enjoyed it inside just as much as the pqtio. The partitions between tables were much appreciated, and added to the private and cozy atmosphere. We had to try the cider, we opted for the 9 flight, which gave us the chance to try each flavor. Wow, amazing! I can't pick a favorite, although the Colorado Peach was pretty tasty. The service was fast and awesome, and the food was AMAZING!! My husband had Conner's Ruben, and I tried the Cider Burger, no words can describe our delight. The flavors were unbelievable, I've never had a burger that delicious, and I would have never thought the flavors would blend together so perfectly. The Guiness marinated Corned Beef was beyond delicious, my Ruben loving husband said it was hands down his favorite Ruben of all time! We are in town for another day or two and will definitely be back before we leave. I have to mention the Poppin Chiccarones, pooping all the time, even in your mouth, fun, and the cheese dip, forgetaboutit! With quite a few options up and down the main drag, this should be...
