Restaurant- great location, great atmosphere, roomy and comfortable. I can see this as a great place! Service- slow, not organized and many mistakes. There was more staff than diners. However, she was very personable and has GREAT potential. Food- It took forever to get our food. RSVP @ 6PM, food came out around 7:20. We all knew what we wanted before hand and ordered after a very light bar drink order. My steak was cooked wrong. But my 2nd steak was really good, with added salt. Loaded baked potato, was NOT loaded. Tiny potato, little butter, chives and a few pieces of ham. Other food (steak, meatloaf, lobster, alfredo) was dry, over cooked and no flavor. $27 sirloin (2nd time cooked) was better than $105 tomahawk steak. French fries were awesome. We ate it because of the price. We weren't about to waste it.
Overall, wouldn't go back.
I see some potential with this place, food and service. Definitely need to teach the new cook the menu, temps & seasonings of a great steak. With an automatic 20% tip with groups, server needs to know how to serve and be attentive.
*response to the owners response. It was not my behavior. It was someone else in our group. I was the only quiet one. Instead of attempting to fix your problem, you try to insult your diners. I hope others see your attitude and read ALL the other reviews about your attitude. It is a shame. I see such potential with your restaurant. Good...
Read moreChad is the absolute man! My fiancé and I wandered into MTN Prime around 9pm on a Sunday night, thinking everything in Idaho Springs had already closed. Lucky for us, their doors were still open and what a find it was.
From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. We never felt rushed, and Chad went above and beyond, walking us through the specials and offering thoughtful recommendations. I ended up going with his favorite, the short rib, and let me tell you, I’ve eaten all over the world, and this was hands-down one of the best short ribs I’ve ever had. You can taste the care and quality in every bite. Everything is made from scratch, and it shows. The blackberry demi-glace over the mashed potatoes and tender beef was absolutely mouthwatering.
My fiancé ordered the ribeye and paired it with the bacon Brussels sprouts, also incredible. Every dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly crafted with intention.
We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Can’t recommend this place and Chad highly enough.
I wanted to put a little more emphasis on Chad cause he truly just made the evening so much enjoyable. He had such a great personality, was funny and knew what he was doing. 5 star service all around. He was very polite and made us feel so welcomed, despite rolling in quite late.
We cannot recommend MTN Prime enough! Go enjoy and see how amazing it is...
Read moreThe server was amazing. The food was delicious. But the hostess ruined our experience before we sat down. With a nearly empty restaurant an hour before closing, we politely asked if we could be seated at one of the 5 empty booths. Our service industry experience gave us the insight to know there’s a near zero chance of all 5 four+tops filling in the last hour on a Sunday, yet she looked around and surprisingly said there’s none available. My parter had back problems and the padded booths are much more comfortable and supportive than the wooden table chairs. After seeing no large parties come, and another couple without reservations get seated at a booth, I asked on our way out why she refused to let us sit in a booth, and she stumbled between “we’re kinda having issues with the booths” and “we reserve them for large parties.” This was our last night in the area and what could’ve been a pleasant final meal in a reputable establishment became overshadowed by us feeling slightly and wondering why she didn’t let us have the simple request we kindly asked. A hostess’s job is simple: make people feel welcome. Perhaps we weren’t in the attire she thought represented the ilk worthy of a comfortable seat, but the bs and lack of simple, human compassion sullied what should’ve been an...
