January/2024: For whoever reads this string of reviews, we visited again, and this time we hit 5 stars all around. Service great, coffee delicious, food was beautiful and tasted amazing. My Brazilian Benedict was incredible! French toast made with jalapeno cheddar bread was reportedly delicious. The pancakes were gigantic, which pleased my husband. Everyone said the bacon was the best, I agreed. Thick, crisp, substantial. Look forward to next time we're in town.

Mid-2023: My long review below is from 8 months ago. This short edit is from another visit this past week when I was in town and had lunch with my people again. We all had breakfast for lunch - one had a breakfast burrito, 2 had omelets. Mine was very good, but my grits were cold, sprinkled with cold grated cheese. When I asked if it was supposed to be cold, the (very nice, friendly) server said no, and took the bowl back to have it warmed, melting the cheese. I heard the woman in the booth behind me ask the same, sending hers back too. Other than that no major complaints, everything tasted great!

August/2022: We were visiting and sat outside on a beautiful morning to have breakfast with a couple of our grandkids - who we hadn't had time with in 6 months - before they went to work nearby. We only had an hour before one of them had to be at work, and I had to go looking for a server to take our orders after waiting a long time. 45 minutes later we still hadn't gotten our food. Then, since no one checked back after that, I had to go ask the hostess at the door for a box so our granddaughter could take what she didn't have time to eat, and she said they'd bring us one, but 5 minutes later we hadn't gotten it.

The time crunch was stressful, and when the food finally came the food was mixed. I had a Brazil Benedict and it was great, but my husband said his country breakfast was just so-so: "the biscuits sucked". They were too dense and hard to eat. The other meals - blueberry pancakes and a regular ham and eggs Benedict - were good, but we were so rushed when it finally came I didn't have time to take any pictures.

It's on the pricey side, which is fine when everything else is great, but it wasn't. I couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars, but I think it's normally better, so I'm giving it 4...and I think I would be willing to try it again next time...

EDIT - My original review from a year ago can be seen below. -

This used to be my absolute favorite spot to go have a quick breakfast before hitting Winter Park. Until a few weeks ago... when I received the worst service I've ever had. We walked in shortly after they opened, and it was EMPTY. There was a new girl working, at least, I don't think I have ever seen before. It was a COLD day and I was shivering.. she seated us...next to the door..in an open restaurant. At first we didn't think about it, but, while she was grabbing our drinks, we decided we could feel a draft. We opted to scoot to another available booth (again, we were her ONLY customers in the small cafe)...she came out with drinks and obviously annoyed, said "this isn't really a seat yourself joint" to which we replied, oh yeah we were just a little cold. She was clearly annoyed while taking our order. Then went back to the kitchen. . where she said to the cook "some people I swear" and continued to complain clearly about us (the only customers) wanting a warmer place to sit. WITHIN EARSHOT...just...completely rude and unprofessional. Another guest walked in..she seated him and asked him if that seat would be ok for them.. something that would have honestly been nice to hear when we were seated...

Then, my order came out and it was wrong. .. so she fixed it.. I had to wait for my actual food to be remade.. no offers were made for a discount or any sort of apology for her deplorable service. It really is some of my favorite food, and so today I went back. I left when I saw this same waitress working. I will maybe give it another try sometime, but for now, she really has ruined the experience. 😞👎

Came in for breakfast a random Tuesday at 11 am. The customers were a plenty. The wait was shorter inside vs outside on this beautiful day. It was a 10 mins estimated wait and we got in faster. All great signs. It took a while for our chipper long-haired male server to arrive to take beverage orders. Finally he returned many minutes for our food order. We inquired after 45 mins where our food was. And the server's demeanor changed. And he said he'll check and returned and said 5 mins. The kitchen messed up the order. Our food finally arrived an hour later from placing it! And the order was still messed up. We overheard a lady at a table next to us say to her waitress that she wanted to cancel her order. The waitress abruptly turned around and huffily muttered that's not how it works. My oldest had ordered 2 biscuits, hashbrowns and bacon. The biscuits were overly toasted and like hockey pucks. The bacon was burnt. My husband ordered jalapeño bread French toast, which was soggy. It should have a toasty, crunch on the outside and be soft in the inside. The bacon was again burnt. My cinnamon French toast was soggy as well when it finally arrived much later than the rest of the order. That's incredible as we waited an hour for 3 of the 4 dishes! And even longer for the 4th. The cinnamon in the French toast wasn't very noticeable. My youngest had a medium breakfast with bacon, pancake and a scrambled egg. Simple and was the only dish that turned out OK. Very expensive for poor service and subpar food. What a disappointment. We're surprised at the rave reviews based on our...

A small but busy restaurant that had a great server and really good food. It’s a small town ambience and very comfortable. The eggs Benedict were really good with a thick slice of ham. The Benedict Scott was also a nice variation and both were served with super crispy outside hashbrowns, which were also moist inside. The pancakes come in 8 inch baby size or 12 inch hubcap size roughly. You order each one individually. The pineapple pancakes were surprisingly not as interesting as we had hoped. I thought they tasted a bit like biscuit batter and were fine but nothing spectacular. But boy was it big! The spinach mushroom omelette was a little bland also surprisingly. I think we decided that the spinach and mushrooms were slightly watery and undercooked. Ended up having to put salt on it for a little bit more flavor. The side of bacon was perfectly done. And don’t miss the chance to have one of their biscuits which was out of this world. The fresh squeezed orange juice tasted just that way, but had no pulp which surprised me, but all in all we left with full stomachs and enjoyed our meal and the server who had a great personality.
