My family and I stayed here for a week for a family reunion. We stayed on the second floor corner room.||From the moment we entered the building until the moment we left, it felt like we were visiting friends. This is such a wonderful little boutique hotel. I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was.||The Staff, Katrina and Jerry, might be two of the nicest human beings on the planet. They were so welcoming, polite and helpful, that it made you feel at home.||The building is very very old and beautiful. This is not a corporate hotel, so set some expectations before you come here. There is no elevator or modern feel to the hotel. This is a place where Doc Holiday stayed so that he could watch his horse in the stable nearby. That's how old this place is, so realize that. Having said that, they did an amazing job renovating while still keeping the unique charm of a small family owned establishment. They had a nice "Annex" room that accommodated over 30 of us for our daily family reunion gatherings.||The Room was my only gripe of my stay, but it was so small of a gripe that I cringe at using the word, but I want to be honest. Again, this is a very old place. The rooms were not setup to be how we are used to in modern hotels. They also JUST opened the place so they are making tweaks as they find them. The rooms are a little small so there really isn't space to put a dresser for your clothes. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The air conditioner was irritating me until I figured out how to use it, and then I didn't have any problems with it, so if you come in the summer, do yourself a favor and figure it out. The bathrooms were outrageously clean every single day. The rooms were super clean every single day. The hotel was clean every single day!!!!||The location of the hotel puts you right in the middle of the action so there is almost no need to drive when there is so much to walk to. I walked to breakfast every morning. I walked along the river, and the quaint streets and shops. If you're an Elks Club member, the local club is literally across the street! No need for DUI!||Overall I cannot say how much I enjoyed my time here. This was not the case when I got there I must admit, because my mind wasn't in the right space as I was still in corporate world vs boutique world. By the second day, I absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave.||If you have a chance to stay here, do yourself a favor and do it at least once. You will...

Service is AMAZING(!!). Like, probably most considerate staff I’ve ever had at a hotel. Easily resolved out difficult parking situation (minivan hauling a small light trailer). Kind and considerate both on the phone and in person, consistently going above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay! The recently renovated historic building is nice, and it’s a 1 minute walk to the shops and restaurants downtown (if you walk slowly). Rooms are clean, with USB charging hubs, a phone, Roku TV’s, a refrigerator, 2 coffee mugs, a water heating/tea-making kettle. Game cabinet on the first floor is well stocked, and they have coffee & water from 7 AM to … I think 10 PM? My memory fails me there.
Locally sourced coffee, tea (green and black), and soap are provided, and they don’t cheap out on any of it - really, REALLY good stuff!
Three notes:
As with many old historic homes in cooler climates, the A/C is a window unit. The nights are cool anyway even in the height of summer, so it’s easy enough to turn it on for a couple hours, then turn it off before bed.
Town water is hard, so it’s soap doesn’t lather easily, and it’s very hard to get rid of the “slick, un-rinsed” feeling once you use it.. Not much to be done about this issue, as water “softening” systems don’t make it easier to rinse. Regardless, this one small thing is easy to overlook given that everything else is fantastic.
!!! If you have an RV, you will have a HARD TIME parking anywhere in town!!! We only have a 12 ft. storage trailer (including tongue), and navigating the town was...
We went on a big motorcyle trip. Me, my father in law, and then the girls drove in the convertible car. We booked 2 rooms at the club hotel based off of what everone looks at. Reviews and pictures. We pulled up and the parking lot was full. They instantly moved cones that were infront of the hotel and said we could park there. We went in and the host was very nice and told us a lot of history about the hotel which was Awesome. We went up checked the rooms out and took showers. The rooms were nice, cozy, and very clean. What really impressed me was cleanliness and the towels didn't smell like regular hotel towels. They smelt VERY CLEAN, like bleached and disinfected. We also needed our clothes washed so I asked the host where i could do laundry at expecting a laundry mat. She instantly said that they could be done right there at the hotel. She gave us a couple of bags to put our dirty clothes in. We brought all of our dirty clothes down and handed them to her and she said they would be done before we got back. She washed, dried, and folded both bags of clothes and had them ready to go before we got back to the hotel. Needless to say they get 5 stars for everything. This was the best place we stayed at on our 2 week adventure. So good that we stayed an...
