As a REAL Mexican woman who’s a local, I am extremely disappoint in this place. My husband ordered fish tacos and fried ice cream. I ordered a tostada, I also ordered pineapple juice to go with it.
We were told 10-15 minutes to pick up. We arrived in 10 to make sure the food wasn’t cold when we got it. Jokes on us, not only did we arrive for them to tell my husband they didn’t take his number down and couldn’t call back to say there was no more fish tacos but we stood around for 10 minutes just to receive cold food.
The cold food was only the start. We tried the pineapple juice which we thought was freshly squeezed as it usually is, it was CANNED PINEAPPLE JUICE FOR $7 THAT CAME IN THE SMALLEST CUP. The tostada was extremely bland along with the rice and beans which was given to me in a catering platter not even a normal take out container making their small portions mix together in a single mush pile. After the food was bland between no seasoning on anything we gave the fried ice cream a chance because how can they mess that up right? WRONG. There was next to no cinnamon in it AT ALL. It was vanilla ice cream with store bought chocolate sauce, whipped cream and cornflakes added on a fried tortilla.
I highly recommend going to Kalaka in Evergreen if you want REALLY good Mexican food. This is not Authentic Mexican as they claim. Save your money and go to Taco Bell down the road if you want something that tastes better...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at El Azteca, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service that set the tone for the evening.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the drinks. El Azteca offers a diverse and creative menu of cocktails that are as delicious as they are beautifully presented. Each drink was crafted with care, using fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. Whether you're a fan of classic margaritas or adventurous enough to try their unique concoctions, you won't be disappointed.
In addition to the fantastic beverages, the customer service was top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, frequently checking in without being intrusive and making sure our needs were met promptly.
El Azteca has created a welcoming atmosphere that combines great drinks with exceptional service. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful evening out. Five stars...
Read moreOct. 2022 update: Redacting previous review. El Azteca has diminished in quality to levels that make Taco Bell look like a Michelin star restaurant in comparison. The lower quality began about two years ago, about the time of Covid. We are locals to Idaho Springs and rarely patron this restaurant now. The service is spotty and the food quality is well… just get some frozen food from Safeway and microwave it if you want a better experience. I hate reviewing a local business this way because it damages the entire town and we need the tourists to stop, dine, and shop. However, there comes a time when protecting humanity comes first. This is, and continues to be, the worst Mexican restaurant I dine at. My family and I find ourselves here every few months out of desperation and hope for change. In the last two years it has not lifted itself out of the pit of despair that it food is delivered from. One bite and you will wish you were sitting in a different restaurant. I am not sure, at this point, it cannot be saved. My recommendation to those thinking about eating here is keep driving. You will regret your dining experience...
