Babycakes Imperial Beach — Restaurant in Imperial Beach

I went on 5/16/19 around 2:40 and the dark haired girl at the counter was very rude. She served us old tasting cupcakes. She liked to hold them in front of her and had a conversation about allergies close to her mouth and wouldn't put them down. She really wanted us to have them to go since she didn't ask. She just wanted to put them in the box she said. She got rude about it when I said I was going to eat outside and then she used the forks to make me feel stupid. If you want your guests at your party to eat these desserts, I hope your guests like harder cake with cake parts separating in your mouth whole. The frosting gave me a stomach ache so prepare for a horrible reaction from your guests after they force the last bite in.

My 12 year old daughter has never said this about a restaurant she said the cupcakes she had where not good and...she doesn't ever want to go back there again . I have never heard her say this. I am not lying. The whole teerterr ordeal was a celebration she's been asking for for threa days now . I feel sorry for you if you decide to have them be your wedding...

Cupcakes: Hit or Miss. I recently visited this coffee shop/cupcake place and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The ambience of the shop is nice if you're looking for a relaxing time, but the service can be hit or miss depending on who's working.

However, I was disappointed with the quality of the cupcakes and cookies. I've visited the shop three times in the past three months, and each time the cupcakes have been crumbly and dry. It seems that there is too much flour and not enough butter in the recipe, which affects the texture of the baked goods.

On the positive side, the coffee is good and the atmosphere of the shop is cozy and welcoming. However, it's worth noting that there are no restrooms available.

Overall, while the coffee shop/cupcake place has some positives, the inconsistent service and poor quality of the baked goods are areas for improvement. I hope the shop can take feedback into account and work on these issues for a better experience...

The place is cute and small. Perfect for a place right on the beach or next to the beach. The staff are nice and work well. The food is good though I think the cupcakes are just a little expensive for something cute, small, and on the beach like that. If they'd drop the price by a dollar it'd be perfect. The coffee is excellent too. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their use of space. They have too much open space behind the counter and unless you are just buying something and immediately leaving they don't have enough space on the customer's side of the counter. I think I wouldn't have noticed or registered this fact if they had filled the area behind the counter more, but it just felt like they were cramping the customers and had more than comfortable room for...
