We were on vacation and after a long day at the zoo we were starving. So while we were waiting for our uber we called the restaurant to make a pick up order, twice, and no one answered, so we placed a pick up order from this restaurant through doordash. About 15 mins later we received an email saying our order was ready, and since we were a couple minutes away, that was perfect. When we got there to pick up the order my sweetie went in to get it. When he went inside he was told that they recieved the order but hadn't started making it. The restaurant was empty, and no one in the drive through, and the tv inside was set to a very loud volume, making it difficult to talk to the employees. Once he was told that the order wasn't even started, he told the employee that he needed to make sure our uber would be ok with waiting the 10 mins or so for them to make the two burrito order, and he said he would wait. My sweetie went back inside to tell the employee that we would wait for the order, and the employee told him that he canceled the order. We were floored. We asked why he canceled it and he just shrugged. When we told him that we were upset he canceled our order without our consent, and that we were starving, he told us he wasn't sorry. Who says and does that? Isn't this restaurant open to make money? At no point were we unpleasant, even after finding out that they had the order for 20 minutes and hadn't even started it we were understanding and were willing to wait. It wasn't until he volunteered that he wasn't sorry and canceled the order did we get upset/hangry. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY! Instead go to Salud!, their food, prices, service, and ambiance were fantastic! Best food...
Read moreWent at about 2:00 in the morning after fishing to go grab a California burrito. Not many options available in imperial Beach that late with the exception of two other taco shops. They had to drive through so that was a plus.
Meat and potatoes are my go-to, so we decided to go with the super California burrito which includes sour cream cheese guacamole. This came out to about $14.99 with the large Jamaica the total was about $20.47
From the time it took the order the food to receiving it it was probably about 5 minutes, it was pretty quick service. The cashier was satisfactory and gave us our burrito and drinks. We did ask them to cut the burrito in half, and they did do that for us. They gave us four salsa's two red and two green.
Burrito was a good size, and it was fresh and hot upon our first impression. We took a bite and that's where it became pretty mid for me. The meat was okay, could use a little bit more seasoning. The fries were not crispy, they were very soggy but you can tell they were fresh potatoes and not frozen. The guacamole was okay along with the pico de gallo that did not come off as fresh.
The green and the Red Salsa that didn't have too much kick, but I found the red to be the better of the two in my opinion.
I'm giving the burrito a three star rating based off those factors. Had the fries been crispy, this easily could have been like a 4.2 burrito.
The Jamaica was homemade, and was not too sweet but not too tart, it was a little bit more towards the tart if anything.
Overall nothing to write home about, but it did satisfy my...

I'm appalled and disgusted by my recent experience at Burritos Luna, a place that was once my go-to spot for late-night, after-party food. Today's visit was an absolute disaster. The Buenos Dias breakfast burritos were a catastrophe - not only was the flavor atrocious, but I found almost half of an eggshell in my burrito! Three out of the four burritos we ordered contained eggshell fragments, making it a repulsive and inedible meal.
I'm fed up with their consistent lack of quality control. It's clear they've either changed cooks or simply stopped caring. The burritos are already overpriced ($13 for a burrito?!), but to make matters worse, they're mostly filled with unnecessary tortilla. The folding technique is laughable, with 3 inches of slack on each side, resulting in the first few bites being nothing but flour tortilla.
Their inconsistency is staggering. While their tacos dorados de papa are decent, other menu items have been subpar. But today's eggshell-infested burritos were the final straw. As a frequent customer, I'm outraged by the decline in quality and service.
My Last Visit, Forever.
I will never set foot in Burritos Luna again. The lack of attention to detail, subpar food quality, and outrageous prices make it a hard pass. Save your money and your stomach; opt for fast food chains that offer...
