Novo Brazil Brewing - Imperial Beach — Restaurant in Imperial Beach

I was just at Novo brewery yesterday, Sunday June 2nd for my sister's baby shower! It was a pretty big event, so l didn't think to check in or write a review while we were there, but I figured now that I've travelled back home and have time, it's worth mentioning how great this place is! It's a very large space, my sister's reserved section for over 60 people only took up about one third of the entire indoor area, plus they set up and outside area for us to have as well! I didn't eat very much while I was there but I did order some fries and they were delicious. I don't drink, but everyone around me was thoroughly enjoying the beers! Most notably though, I want to mention how absolutely amazing the staff was! Isaac was our section's server (for the most part) and they were the most helpful, friendly, quick and attentive person on a service staff that l've seen in a long long time. Isaac is VERY good at their job! Before we left and were packing everything up, Isaac came over to thank us for being such a great group (it got just a tiny bit rowdy with some of the partygoers in our group, what with all the booze and games we were playing) so that was really kind of to say! This spot is top notch, truly! Personally I wasn't a huge fan of the extremely loud Christian rock music coming from the Sunday service church building next door, but that's ok, and it's no fault of the brewery's! Absolutely Novo is a 10/10. And...

I grew up in IB, but live in Nor Cal and was in search of a location to host a Celebration of Life for my brother Jesse Valdez (who was found deceased on 4/22/23 after I reported him missing on 4/7/23). Luckily my mom noticed this GEM in IB - new, brewery, food, and great view of the bay? YAS! I reached out to the manager to ask if they hosted events at this location which thankfully the answer was yes!

The manager Jimmy is an absolute pleasure to work with - SUPERB communication. I was so excited and grateful that he let me play the photo slideshow (as I spent hours going through old photos, through hard drives, etc.) on one of the humongous TVs they have up at the bar. We had main servers of Edwin and Josh who were FABULOUS!

The area we were allotted was ready at time requested, easily identifiable so that other patrons knew our area was reserved, plenty of space for us to have a memory table, flower display, and food table. Very SPACIOUS - we had both indoor and outdoor tables which was fantastic as we have a large family/extended family and Jesse had many friends who wanted to come pay respect. Especially with small children in attendance, it was so nice to have the outdoor area we could dedicate to games (we were able to bring giant Jenga, bubbles, etc.).

I live down the street have been frequenting this location for other things like trident coffee, biking, running, etc for many years. But Novo really brings something unique, fun, relaxing and familial to our little spot. I have yet to order something that wasn't full of flavor and love as well as perfectly executed! My entire family agrees. With a bazzilan beers and hard kombuchas on tap, there is something for everyone! As well as several non-alcoholic booches for non drinkers, like myself at times 😜 The service is AMAZING...everyone works together to make sure your needs are met. For those who like to enjoy beautiful bay views and be outdoors, there are lots of shady (and sunny) seating options and grassy area with cornhole for the kids. For those who want to watch sports on damn near jumbotron sized tvs, there are several. This place is huge and very well staffed!
